Royal Enfield’s electric Himalayan concept has been reported testing in Ladakh, with sightings in June and July 2025. The bike appears to be an adventure-style development prototype, but Royal Enfield has not confirmed that it will reach production or announced specifications, pricing, or a launch date.
What was spotted in Ladakh?
NDTV Auto and Team-BHP reported a Royal Enfield electric Himalayan prototype testing in Ladakh on June 11, 2025. The Daily Jagran later reported a sighting on the roads of Hanle on July 7, 2025. These are reported sightings, not an announcement of a production motorcycle.
The reported images show an upright adventure-bike silhouette, round lighting, a windscreen, off-road-oriented tires and suspension components. The reports also describe a mid-mounted electric motor and battery. Those are visual observations of a development mule; they do not establish the equipment or layout of a final model. What does “Him-E” mean?
In this context, Him-E refers to the Electric Himalayan Testbed concept and its reported development mule. Royal Enfield’s February 2024 investor presentation identifies the Electric Himalayan Testbed as the company’s first electric-vehicle design concept and says it was unveiled at EICMA 2023. Are specifications or a launch date confirmed?
No confirmed battery capacity, motor output, riding range, charging time, price, launch timing or present market availability is established in the cited reports. The Daily Jagran says Royal Enfield had not confirmed range or powertrain details. Its reported 7–10 kWh figure is an outlet estimate, not a manufacturer specification, so it should not be treated as the bike’s battery capacity. (The Daily Jagran)

Not on the evidence available. Team-BHP characterized the bike as spied in “production guise,” but that is the outlet’s description of its appearance. The sighting itself does not confirm production approval, a launch schedule or a sale-ready specification. There are no confirmed production variants or purchasable options to compare.

For a meaningful comparison with other electric adventure bikes, wait for Royal Enfield to publish specifications such as range, battery capacity, charging time, weight, equipment, price and markets where the bike will be sold. None of those details is confirmed for Him-E in the cited reports.
