Royal Enfield’s upcoming Himalayan 750 is expected to use a close-to-750cc parallel-twin engine, but the company has not published final specifications. Autocar India reports that Royal Enfield plans to show the production version at EICMA 2026; a retail launch date has not been confirmed. Here is what is reported, what prototype sightings suggest, and what buyers should treat as unconfirmed.
What is known about the Himalayan 750 engine?
Autocar India reports that the Himalayan 750 is expected to use a 750cc twin-cylinder engine derived from Royal Enfield’s existing 650cc platform, likely with an air/oil-cooled architecture. The outlet estimates output at roughly 55–60 hp. Those are reported expectations, not final manufacturer specifications or independently measured performance figures. India Today also describes a close-to-750cc parallel twin and notes that Royal Enfield has not disclosed final output or specifications.

When could the Himalayan 750 arrive?
Autocar India reports that Royal Enfield confirmed a production-version showcase at EICMA 2026, with a launch expected afterward. The outlet’s model listing estimates December 2026, but that is an estimate, not an official retail date. No final on-sale timing is established in the cited reports. What prototype features have been reported?
India Today’s 9 September 2026 report describes observations and interpretations from a prototype, not a confirmed production equipment list. It notes a 19-inch front wheel, alloy wheels, adjustable suspension, twin front discs and apparent cruise-control and traction-control switchgear. The TFT display was switched off during the observation, so its functions could not be verified. Luggage and accessories
Autocar India reports that a recent test mule carried hard panniers and says they are likely to be offered through an official accessories lineup. That report does not confirm a final accessory package or compatibility with a particular production variant. If considering general motorcycle hard panniers, wait for confirmed mounting hardware and dimensions before assuming a 750-specific fit.

Autocar India’s listing estimates a price of ₹4.50–5.00 lakh and a December 2026 launch. Both figures are outlet estimates; the cited material does not establish an official price or retail availability. See the listing and its estimates.

The 750 remains an upcoming model with expected, rather than finalized, specifications, while the Himalayan 450 is the current model shown on Royal Enfield’s official India page. A meaningful comparison will depend on confirmed 750 pricing, availability, engine performance, highway comfort, wheel and suspension setup, electronics, luggage options, and service support in your market. Until production specifications and local availability are announced, choose based on the 450’s confirmed details and your need for a motorcycle now—not on assumed 750 equipment or performance.
