Royal Enfield’s Guerrilla 450 is a road-focused roadster built on the Sherpa 450 platform it shares with the Himalayan. Independent launch rides found it brisk and composed through corners, but they took place on unusually smooth Barcelona roads—so they cannot settle how it handles rough commutes or long-term ownership. The later APEX version changes the riding position, tyres and ride modes; it is a separate variant, not an update fitted to every Guerrilla.
What Royal Enfield introduced
Royal Enfield launched the Guerrilla 450 in Barcelona on July 17, 2024, as a premium modern roadster. The original range comprised Analogue, Dash and Flash variants; the company said the model would be called the GRR 450 in most Latin American markets. Its launch positioning emphasized commuting, winding roads and longer paved rides. That is the manufacturer’s intended use, not proof that the bike suits every road or rider.
The Guerrilla shares its Sherpa 450 platform with the adventure-focused Himalayan, but Royal Enfield says it is tuned for roadster performance. In practical terms, the distinction is the intended role: the Guerrilla is presented as a road bike, while the Himalayan is adventure-focused. Shared platform does not mean the models have identical setup or purpose.
What the launch rides found—and what they could not
Engine and cornering impressions
India Today’s July 27, 2024 launch-ride report described comfortable initial ergonomics, brisk, tractable engine response and confidence through corners on its Barcelona route. The report also called the bike substantial at 185kg. BikeWale likewise found it stable and willing on twisty roads despite its mass and long wheelbase. These are two publications’ short-ride impressions, not universal findings or long-term ownership conclusions.

The road surface matters
India Today described good tarmac, and BikeWale noted that Barcelona’s very smooth roads limited what the ride could reveal about comfort over poor surfaces. BikeWale also observed vibrations above 5,000rpm. Those observations belong to that reviewer’s test conditions; they do not establish how every rider will experience vibration or rough-road comfort.
Together, the reports suggest that cornering confidence and substantial weight can coexist. They do not answer how the bike will feel on broken roads or after months of use. A test ride on roads resembling your usual routes is more useful than treating a brief press ride as a final verdict.

Current India specifications and the APEX distinction
Royal Enfield India’s product page, accessed October 4, 2026, lists a 452cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC, four-valve engine producing 40.02PS at 8,000rpm and 40Nm at 5,500rpm. For the APEX specification presentation, the page lists a 780mm seat height, 169mm ground clearance, 1,440mm wheelbase, 310mm front and 270mm rear discs, and dual-channel ABS. Royal Enfield cautions that specifications may vary by variant; these figures are India-market product-page specifications and should not be assumed to apply to every market or trim.
What changed for APEX
Royal Enfield announced the APEX on March 27, 2026, as a sportier variant with revised ergonomics and road-focused tyres. The current India product page says its handlebar sits 56mm lower and 57mm farther forward than the standard Guerrilla’s. It identifies Vredestein Centauro ST+ tyres and Street and Sport modes in place of Eco and Performance modes. These are market-specific details: check the local model’s equipment and availability before comparing variants.

APEX is worth considering if you want a more forward, sport-oriented posture and road-biased tyres. The lower, farther-forward bar may not suit everyone, so compare the standard and APEX ergonomics in person and, where possible, ride both. Do not assume these changes apply to 2024 launch bikes or every Guerrilla 450.
Price: get a current local quote
There is no current local price established here. Royal Enfield’s July 2024 launch announcement listed introductory prices of ₹239,000 ex-showroom in India, £4,850 MSRP in the UK and €5,290 MSRP in Germany. Those are dated launch figures, not present-day price guidance; market, taxes, variant and date affect what a buyer pays. Ask a local dealer for a current quote for the exact trim.

Accessories named at launch
Royal Enfield’s 2024 launch materials named these accessories for the Guerrilla 450:
- Engine guards and sump guards
- An urban seat and tinted flyscreen
- Blacked-out mirrors and bar-end mirrors
- Soft panniers
Confirm availability and fitment with a local dealer for the relevant model year and trim before buying. Inclusion in launch materials does not establish that every item is currently available in every market.

How to make the buying decision
The first-ride reports make the Guerrilla 450 worth trying if your riding is mainly on paved roads and you value an engine reviewers found tractable alongside stable cornering impressions. The evidence is less conclusive for poor surfaces and sustained use. Focus your test ride on the things a smooth launch route could not resolve: comfort on your normal roads, the riding position that suits you, and how the bike feels at the speeds and distances you actually ride. Get the current local price and verify the equipment on the exact variant you are considering.
