The Royal Enfield Classic 650 pairs heritage styling with a 647.95 cc parallel twin, six-speed gearbox and modern essentials such as LED lighting and dual-channel ABS. It may suit riders seeking an old-school look with a larger twin, but its published 243 kg kerb weight and 800 mm seat height make “for everyone” an overstatement. Check the specification and price for your market, then assess the bike in person.
What is the Royal Enfield Classic 650?
Royal Enfield introduced the Classic 650 at EICMA in Milan on November 5, 2024, as an addition to its 650 Twin line. The company points to the family’s teardrop tank, round casquette-style headlamp, curved fenders and twin exhausts as defining design cues. It calls the motorcycle a Classic; “old-school” describes its styling, not an official technical cruiser classification. Royal Enfield’s launch announcement also described its power delivery as effortless—a manufacturer characterization, not an independent test finding.
In that November 2024 announcement, Royal Enfield CEO B. Govindarajan said, “The Classic is what keeps us rooted and real to our philosophy of pure motorcycling.” The release said selected UK and European bookings opened at launch, with deliveries planned for January 2025; Indian bookings and test rides were planned for January 2025. Those were launch-era plans, not a statement of current availability.
Engine, chassis and equipment
Both the US and India product pages list a 647.95 cc parallel twin and six-speed transmission. Output figures are stated differently by region, so use the figures for the market version you are considering rather than combining them.

The US page lists a steel tubular spine frame, 43 mm telescopic front fork, twin rear shocks, 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, dual-channel ABS, a 320 mm front disc and a 300 mm rear disc. For equipment and display, the US page documents an analogue/digital dashboard, USB port, LED casquette-style headlamp, Showa suspension, teardrop tank, twin exhausts and removable passenger seat. The India page describes a retro speedometer with digital LCD information for gear position, distance and fuel level, LED headlamp and pilot lights, USB charging, adjustable clutch and brake levers, and Tripper navigation. Confirm the actual regional and model-year specification with a local dealer.
Does “for everyone” fit?
The Classic 650’s documented combination—heritage styling, a larger parallel twin, six speeds, LED lighting, ABS and a gear-position display—may appeal to riders who want classic visual cues without limiting themselves to vintage-style equipment. That equipment does not establish that it is the right motorcycle for every rider, route or use.

The India page’s 800 mm seat height and 243 kg kerb weight (with 90% fuel and oil) are especially relevant to fit. The US page lists corresponding figures of 31.5 inches and 535 lb. Before deciding, consider whether you can reach the ground comfortably, balance the bike at low speed, park it where you ride, and accommodate a passenger if needed. A specification sheet cannot substitute for sitting on the motorcycle or taking a supervised test ride.
Royal Enfield’s launch release praised low-end acceleration, vibration levels, comfort and stability, but these remain manufacturer claims. The cited material does not establish independent road-test results for highway comfort, suspension performance, vibration, braking, handling, fuel economy or overtaking.

Which accessories are listed for the Classic 650?
Royal Enfield’s India page lists model-specific protection options including Airfly Evo and Compact engine guards, sump guards and oil cooler guards. It also lists fog lights, touring and bar-end mirrors, footpegs, soft panniers and oil filler caps, and says the model has over 30 accessories. Treat this as a manufacturer-listed accessory path, not confirmation that a particular item is in stock or fits every market and model year. Check exact fitment with a local dealer before ordering.
