RoverKing’s current product listing calls its midsize short-bed camper the RK10. The company names the Jeep Gladiator as a fitment example and says the camper is intended for beds at least 5 ft long, but advises owners to check the technical drawings or confirm suitability with RoverKing. The Capra specifications and prices in the first row come from New Atlas’s 2022 report. The separate RK10 figures come from RoverKing’s current listing. The Canadian RK10 price should not be read as a US price, and the older US Capra prices should not be treated as current.

Can four people actually sleep inside?
There are two sleeping areas, but the phrase “sleeps three to four” needs context. The 2022 Capra’s high bed measured 77 × 63 in; the convertible dinette made a second berth measuring 30 × 59 in. The lower bed is narrow and short for most adults, so this arrangement is better understood as a family setup—typically adults in the upper bed and small children below—than as comfortable accommodation for four full-size adults. RoverKing’s current RK10 listing also describes sleeping for three to four, but gives different dimensions: a 76.5 × 58 in primary bed and a 57 × 25 in secondary bed area. What did the Capra include—and what must you bring?
The Capra was a pop-up shelter, not a self-contained motorhome. New Atlas described its body as a welded sheet-metal frame with aluminum panels and 20-mm felt-covered Styrofoam insulation. Its full-length pop-up roof offered 6.6 ft of interior headroom. The report said there was no built-in kitchen, so cooking required separate equipment, such as a portable camping stove; a fridge or cooler and a cassette toilet were also suggested as gear to bring. For the historical Premium package, the report listed an 80-Ah gel battery, 170-W solar panel, electrical control panel, external 110-V plug, LED lighting, USB outlets, a 30-L water tank, pump and exterior shower sprayer. Premium Plus added four adjustable camper jacks, curtains and mosquito nets. These descriptions apply to the 2022 Capra packages; confirm what is included with any camper currently offered. The current RK10 listing treats several items—including camper jacks, a roof rack and cross bars, an Eberspacher diesel heater kit and a water tank kit—as options. RoverKing says a portable power station is required for the control panel and diesel heater. Will it fit—and can your Gladiator carry it?
A camper’s advertised dry weight is not the weight of a ready-to-travel truck. Occupants, options, water and cargo all consume payload. The relevant limit is the payload for the exact Gladiator configuration, not a generic number for the model line. Jeep’s 2026 specifications show 1,025 lb for the displayed Sport configuration, while payload varies by configuration; the 1,200-lb Rubicon figure cited in the 2022 New Atlas article is historical and configuration-specific. - Read the truck’s payload label. Use the label on your specific Gladiator and its matching owner’s manual, not a maximum figure from a different trim or model year.
- Confirm physical fit. Compare the camper’s technical drawings with your bed and truck configuration. RoverKing advises checking the drawings or asking the company to confirm suitability. A listed Gladiator fitment example is not a guarantee for every Gladiator. (RoverKing RK10)
- Count the complete load. Include the camper, occupants, options, water and cargo together. Water, installed equipment and the people riding in the truck leave less payload available for other gear.

Is the Capra’s “brilliant” micro-RV idea worth it?
The appeal is straightforward: a pop-up camper can add sleeping space and shelter to a midsize pickup without requiring a full-size RV. The 2022 Capra’s reported 640-lb base weight was notably central to that pitch. But “lightweight” does not mean payload-free, and the useful comparison is not just a camper’s headline weight or price.
- Payload remaining: compare the camper’s actual equipped weight with the capacity left on your truck after accounting for occupants and supplies.
- Fit: verify bed dimensions and compatibility for the exact Gladiator, rather than relying on a general fitment example.
- Sleeping space: compare the real berth dimensions with the people who will use each bed.
- Equipment: distinguish included items from options, especially power, water, heating and cooking gear.
