The RENNtech SEC V12 Widebody Sledgehammer is a planned C126 Mercedes-Benz SEC restomod with a naturally aspirated 7.5-liter M120 V12. What is the RENNtech Sledgehammer?
It is a reengineered and widened version of the C126-generation Mercedes-Benz SEC coupe, rather than a new Mercedes-Benz production model. RENNtech describes a frame-up restoration, flared arches, integrated ducting and custom-forged wheels as part of the build. The company says the wider body and ducting are intended to support aerodynamics, cooling and high-speed stability; those are design claims, not independently tested results. RENNtech’s current SEC V12 page presents the car as an evolution of the classic coupe.
How much horsepower does it have?
RENNtech’s current product overview advertises 660 hp and 650 lb-ft from the naturally aspirated 7.5-liter M120 V12. However, the company’s separate detailed specification page lists 650 hp and 650 lb-ft. Car and Driver also reported 660 horsepower and 650 pound-feet on February 11, 2026. No official explanation establishes whether the 650-hp figure is an earlier specification, a revision or a page error, so 660 hp is the current overview’s claim—not a settled production-car measurement.
The engine is described by RENNtech as hand-built and naturally aspirated. No independent dyno result or completed-car performance test is established in the cited coverage.

What hardware and features are announced?
Alongside the restored and widened body, RENNtech lists carbon-ceramic brakes and an interior tailored to each client. The detailed specification page adds a rear-mounted H-pattern manual transaxle, four-way adjustable dampers, six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers, and custom 19-inch forged wheels. These are announced specifications from the company, not independently verified production-car equipment.
How many will be built, and when will deliveries start?
RENNtech says the Sledgehammer series is limited to 12 vehicles worldwide. Its current product page schedules the first delivery for December 2027. Car and Driver’s February 2026 report likewise described deliveries as expected to begin in 2027. Both dates are forward-looking plans; the available reporting does not establish that deliveries have begun.

How much does the RENNtech Sledgehammer cost?
No price is published in the cited sources. Car and Driver reported that pricing had not been announced, and RENNtech directs prospective buyers to its Custom Build Team for pricing, allocation, build-time and customization details.
