Renault 5 and Peugeot E-208 are small-car comparison anchors, with Citroën ë-C3 as an urban alternative; Renault Scenic and Peugeot E-3008 are closer family-car rivals, while Citroën ë-C3 Aircross is a smaller crossover option. The figures below are chiefly for France, with one Peugeot Germany comparison; prices, incentives, versions and equipment vary by market.
Which Renault is closest to the Peugeot or Citroën you are considering?
These are role-based comparisons, not claims that the cars have identical dimensions, equipment or prices. A city car and a family SUV serve different needs, even if both are electric.

| Need | Renault anchor | Peugeot alternative | Citroën alternative | How closely they match |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Urban or small electric car | Renault 5 E-Tech | E-208 | ë-C3 | Compare seat and luggage space, battery version and local price; the names do not establish equal size or equipment. (Renault and Peugeot France model information; Citroën France model range.) |
| Compact hatchback for longer trips | Mégane E-Tech | E-308 may be relevant, subject to local availability | ë-C4 may be relevant, subject to local availability | Current, directly comparable specifications for these exact versions were not established. Check local availability before making a detailed head-to-head comparison. (Renault and Citroën France model ranges.) |
| Family-oriented electric SUV or crossover | Scenic E-Tech | E-3008 | ë-C3 Aircross | Scenic and E-3008 are the closer family-car anchors. The ë-C3 Aircross is a smaller, less directly matched crossover; compare passenger and luggage needs rather than range alone. (Renault, Peugeot and Citroën France model information.) |
What range do the published versions claim?
The following are manufacturer-published WLTP figures, not guaranteed distance in everyday driving. Battery and version matter, so compare the specific configuration you can actually order.
| Model and version | Battery / motor | Published maximum range | Market and source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Renault 5 E-Tech Urban Range | 40 kWh | 315 km WLTP | Renault Group announcement, 2026 |
| Renault 5 E-Tech Comfort Range | 52 kWh | 430 km WLTP | Renault Group announcement, 2026 |
| Renault 5 E-Tech entry version | 36.5 kWh LFP | 305 km WLTP | Renault Group announcement, 2026; rollout details are version-specific |
| Renault Mégane E-Tech | Not stated on the cited range page | Up to 500 km WLTP | Renault France current range page, accessed 2026; depends on version, motorisation and equipment |
| Renault Scenic E-Tech long-range | 89 kWh NMC | Up to 642 km WLTP | Renault Group, 2026 |
| Renault Scenic E-Tech comfort-range | 67 kWh LFP | Up to 467 km WLTP | Renault Group, 2026; France order availability was announced for autumn 2026 |
| Peugeot E-3008 | 213 hp version | Up to 526 km WLTP | Peugeot France current model page, accessed 2026 |
| Peugeot E-3008 | 230 hp version | Up to 701 km WLTP | Peugeot France current model page, accessed 2026 |
| Peugeot E-3008 Long Range | Version designation in the guide | Up to 698 km WLTP | Peugeot Germany 2026 guide |
| Citroën ë-C3 Aircross comfort-range | 44 kWh, 113 hp | Up to 302 km WLTP | Citroën France current page, accessed 2026 |
| Citroën ë-C3 Aircross extended-range | 54 kWh, 113 hp | Up to 400 km WLTP | Citroën France current page, accessed 2026 |
Peugeot’s French and German E-3008 Long Range figures differ. Use the current homologated version for the market where you will buy; do not combine figures from different markets as if they described one specification.

How should you read the range numbers?
WLTP provides a standardized basis for comparing published figures, not a promise of real-world range. Peugeot says actual results vary with speed, cabin climate, driving style and outside temperature. Citroën also identifies route profile and vehicle load as factors affecting consumption. Equipment and wheels can affect the version-specific maximum Renault publishes.
For a useful comparison, start with the exact battery and trim, then consider the routes you drive, typical passenger and luggage load, climate use and charging opportunities. A longer WLTP figure alone does not establish which car will be more efficient or more suitable for your journeys. No comparable independent road test or instrumented efficiency result is established here.

Are the charging times directly comparable?
No. The manufacturers report different charging windows, and the figures do not provide a like-for-like test across the cars.
| Model / configuration | Published DC charging claim | Source and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Renault Scenic E-Tech, 89 kWh NMC | 15–80% in 28 minutes; 150 kW peak charging power | Renault Group, 2026 |
| Renault Scenic E-Tech, 67 kWh LFP | 15–80% in 24 minutes | Renault Group, 2026 |
| Peugeot E-3008 | Approximately 27–30 minutes from 20–80% | Peugeot France current model page, accessed 2026 |
| Citroën ë-C3 Aircross, comfort-range | Approximately 25 minutes from 20–80% | Citroën France current page, accessed 2026 |
| Citroën ë-C3 Aircross, extended-range | Approximately 27 minutes from 20–80% | Citroën France current page, accessed 2026 |
The starting and ending charge percentages differ, so these times should not be ranked as if they came from the same test. In practice, charging time also depends on the vehicle’s onboard charger, cable, and charging point type and power, as Peugeot notes. For trip planning, check the charging capability and charging curve for the exact version as well as the route’s available chargers.

What do the prices tell you?
Renault’s 1 September 2026 France announcement priced the 89 kWh Scenic long-range version from €38,750 or €270 per month. The 67 kWh version was announced as expected to open for orders in autumn 2026 from €31,750 or €240 per month. These are conditional French offers: Renault’s footnotes tie them to a theoretical maximum €8,240 CEE incentive, and the monthly figures include lease terms and an increased first payment.
Those figures are not directly comparable with another model’s list price or an offer in another country. The manufacturer pages reviewed do not establish a same-country, same-date price comparison across equivalent trims for all three brands. Before deciding, check the local configurator and record whether each figure is a list price, incentive-adjusted price, lease payment or limited offer, along with eligibility and financing terms.

Which one fits your use?
- Mostly urban trips: begin with Renault 5, Peugeot E-208 and Citroën ë-C3. Compare the cabin and boot space you need, the battery version and the price of the locally available trim.
- A compact hatchback with longer-trip use in mind: consider Mégane E-Tech, with E-308 or ë-C4 as possible alternatives where sold. Verify the exact local versions; comparable specifications were not established for this group.
- Family-car space: put Scenic E-Tech and E-3008 closest together, then assess ë-C3 Aircross against your actual passenger and luggage requirements rather than assuming it is the same size class.
- Long journeys: compare the battery and trim you can order, charging window, charging access on your routes and space needs. WLTP maxima alone do not predict how often you will need to stop.
- Purchase cost: compare locally available prices only after accounting for trim, incentives, lease structure and eligibility.
What should you check before ordering?
- Confirm local specification: check the current national configurator for the exact battery, motor, trim, wheels, equipment and order availability.
- Match the space to the household: check seating and luggage needs, especially when comparing a family SUV with a smaller crossover.
- Plan charging at home and away: check the home electrical supply, installation requirements, local rules and public charging options. Manufacturer mentions of home wallboxes do not establish that a particular unit suits every installation.
- Check the cable and charging equipment included: Citroën says a Mode 3 cable is supplied with the ë-C3 Aircross for wallbox or public charging. Confirm what comes with the precise version you are buying rather than assuming all cars include the same equipment.
- Normalize the total offer: verify incentive eligibility and compare like with like—purchase against purchase, or lease against lease—including any required first payment and contract terms.
Manufacturer specifications can establish published range, charging claims and announced offers; they do not establish a cross-brand verdict on reliability, driving feel, efficiency in independent testing or total cost of ownership. Those questions require evidence for the exact models and market under consideration.
