Ram’s U.S. sales surged in the third quarter of 2026, but the figures do not show Jeep as a whole losing ground. Stellantis reported Ram brand sales up 29% year over year, while Jeep’s published highlights showed Wrangler sales up 5% and Cherokee Hybrid retail sales up 53% from the previous quarter. Those are different measures, and Stellantis did not provide a comparable Jeep-wide sales change in its Q3 highlights.
What Ram’s Q3 2026 sales figures show
In its October 1, 2026 U.S. sales release, Stellantis reported 324,277 vehicles sold in the quarter, describing total company sales as steady compared with Q3 2025. Within that flat company result, Ram was a standout:
- Ram brand: sales increased 29% year over year.
- Ram pickups: sales increased 34% year over year.
- Ram 1500: total sales increased 73% year over year.
These percentages refer to nested but distinct totals: the Ram brand includes more than pickups, and the Ram pickup figure is not the same measure as Ram 1500 sales. The figures are company-reported U.S. sales, not an independent ranking. Stellantis’ Q3 2026 sales release provides the company’s results and model highlights.
The release also quotes a 42% increase in Ram 1500 retail sales, but the statement does not specify the comparison period. It should not be presented as another year-over-year figure or as interchangeable with the 73% increase in total Ram 1500 sales.

Is Jeep sales growth being beaten by Ram?
The available Q3 highlights do not establish that Jeep’s overall sales fell or that Ram outsold Jeep. They compare a Ram brand-wide year-over-year increase with two Jeep model-level measures:

The Cherokee Hybrid increase is sequential, from one quarter to the next, rather than year over year. And Stellantis’ release does not list a Jeep total-brand sales change alongside Ram’s 29% figure. The headline’s “getting beat up” language is therefore color, not a finding that Jeep as a brand declined.

Why the comparison changes from quarter to quarter
Brand sales can move in opposite directions over different periods. In Q3 2025, Jeep sales were up 11% year over year while Ram sales were down 5%; Ram pickup totals were down 1%, according to the FCA US Q3 2025 sales summary. For calendar year 2025, FCA US reported that Ram retail sales increased 17%, while Jeep also grew year over year. The company described positive Q4 results for both brands in its full-year 2025 U.S. sales release.
That history is a reminder that one strong quarter does not prove a lasting reversal between the brands. It also does not identify what caused Ram’s Q3 2026 increase. In an earlier company update, Stellantis said higher Q3 2025 North American shipments reflected, in large part, normalized inventory dynamics after a prior-year dealer-stock reduction initiative had temporarily reduced production; it also cited the return of the HEMI V-8 Ram 1500. That is context for the earlier period, not evidence explaining the 2026 sales result. Stellantis’ Q3 2025 results describe that company context.

What Stellantis said about the quarter
Michael Orange, Stellantis’ Head of U.S. Retail Sales and Network Performance, said the company delivered “a disciplined third quarter” against a competitive industry backdrop and credited its dealer network with driving retail business. That is the company’s characterization of its performance, not an independent assessment of the market.
