The recall covers certain 2025–2026 Ram models equipped with a suspect 3.5-inch instrument panel cluster (IPC). The cluster may stop working at startup or while driving, and FCA US’s stated remedy is a software reprogramming. Check your truck’s 17-character VIN to see whether it is included and whether its repair is still outstanding.
What the Ram instrument-panel recall covers
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) submitted its Part 573 report on April 9, 2026. It identifies the recall as NHTSA 26V225 and the manufacturer campaign as 35D. The recall is limited to certain vehicles with the suspect 3.5-inch cluster and relevant production or service history. Model and year alone do not establish whether a particular truck is covered; the filing excludes some similar vehicles based on cluster equipment, supplier, or production period. What can happen if the cluster fails
The suspect IPC software may cause the instrument panel cluster to become inoperative either at startup or while the truck is being driven. If it goes blank or otherwise stops displaying information, required warnings—including BRAKE, ESC, and TPMS indicators—and the gear-selection indicator may not appear. The report names Marelli North America as the component supplier. It does not say that every vehicle equipped with a 3.5-inch cluster will fail; eligibility depends on the vehicle’s specific history and configuration.

How to check whether your Ram is included
- Find your truck’s 17-character VIN. It is commonly visible at the lower edge of the windshield on the driver’s side and on the vehicle registration or insurance documents.
- Enter the VIN in NHTSA’s recall lookup or use Mopar’s recall lookup. NHTSA says its VIN search shows unrepaired safety recalls; a model-year match by itself is not confirmation that the specific vehicle is affected. NHTSA recall guidance
- If the lookup shows campaign 35D or recall 26V225 as unrepaired—or if the result is unclear—contact an authorized Ram dealer. Ask the dealer to confirm the VIN’s status and arrange the recall repair.
The filing planned dealer notification and VIN searchability to begin on or about April 16, 2026, with owner letters beginning around May 28, 2026. What the repair is—and what to do if the display is failing
FCA US’s filed remedy is to reprogram the instrument panel cluster software. The recall filing does not specify replacement of the cluster or screen as the remedy. If your cluster is currently inoperative, contact an authorized Ram dealer promptly for vehicle-specific safety guidance and repair arrangements. Do not rely on a blank cluster to confirm gear selection or to monitor warnings; the recall filing specifically identifies those displays as potentially unavailable. The available recall information does not set out a separate driving procedure for a truck with an active failure.

A different FCA US recall concerns radio software that can prevent a rearview-camera image from appearing on the media screen. Mopar’s FAQ lists certain 2026 Ram 1500 and 2500 vehicles among a broader group of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles, and says an over-the-air update is intended, with dealer installation if the update cannot be completed.
