Which 2025 Cadillac models look most reliable? The clearest favorable model-specific signal in the available evidence belongs to the CT5. But there is no sound basis for a strict ranking of every 2025 Cadillac: the studies cover different model years and measure different things. The XT6 and XT5 each have a favorable J.D. Power result that needs important context, while Consumer Reports gives the 2025 XT6, XT5 and Lyriq unfavorable reliability assessments.
How the 2025 Cadillac reliability comparison works
This is a ranking of the available evidence, not a guarantee of how any individual car will perform. Consumer Reports (CR) provides the clearest model-specific comparisons for several 2025 Cadillacs. J.D. Power’s 2025 Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) measures problems reported by owners of 2022 vehicles after three years; its results are useful historical context, not direct ratings of 2025 models.
J.D. Power’s VDS surveyed 34,175 original owners of 2022 model-year vehicles. The survey was fielded from August through November 2024 and assessed 184 problem areas across nine categories, including powertrain, infotainment, climate, interior and driving assistance. Its unit is problems per 100 vehicles (PP100), with fewer reported problems representing a better result. The study’s method and results should not be conflated with CR’s model-year predictions or J.D. Power’s early-ownership Initial Quality Study.
Most reliable Cadillac models for 2025, ranked by the available signals
The order below reflects how favorable and relevant the evidence is to 2025 models, not a shared numerical score. The studies do not provide a like-for-like measurement across all four vehicles.

Cadillac CT5: strongest favorable 2025 model-specific signal
CR says the 2025 CT5 is more reliable than other cars from the same model year. That makes it the clearest favorable 2025-specific result among the models covered here. CR bases its reliability information on subscriber questionnaires and cautions that model-year samples can be too small for statistical confidence. The result is directional, not a published numeric score or a promise about an individual CT5. See the 2025 CT5 reliability assessment.
-
Cadillac XT6: a strong older-model award, but a below-average 2025 prediction
J.D. Power ranked the XT6 highest in its Upper Midsize Premium SUV segment in the 2025 VDS. That award reflects reported problems in 2022 model-year vehicles after three years of ownership; it does not establish that the 2025 XT6 is similarly dependable. CR’s separate assessment predicts the 2025 XT6 will be less reliable than the average new car. The contrast is a reminder to keep the model years and methods distinct. See the 2025 XT6 reliability assessment and J.D. Power’s VDS results.

Cadillac XT5: early-quality recognition does not settle reliability
The XT5 received top honors in the Midsize Premium SUV segment in J.D. Power’s 2025 Initial Quality Study (IQS), which addresses early ownership. Separately, CR says the 2025 XT5 is much less reliable than other cars from the same model year. These are different outcomes measured over different periods, so the IQS award does not cancel out CR’s less favorable reliability comparison. The XT5 is therefore a mixed signal, leaning cautious for a 2025 buyer. See CR’s XT5 assessment and the IQS report on Cadillac.
-
Cadillac Lyriq: unfavorable 2025 reliability signal
CR describes the 2025 Lyriq as less reliable than other cars of the same model year. CR also cited the Lyriq’s well-below-average predicted reliability as one contributor to Cadillac’s position in its 2025 brand report card. That brand card placed Cadillac 21st of 32 brands with an overall score of 63, but the score combines road-test, safety, predicted reliability and owner satisfaction; it is not a Cadillac-only reliability score. See the 2025 Lyriq reliability assessment and CR’s 2025 brand report card.

Other Cadillac models on sale for 2025 are not ranked here because the cited sources do not provide comparable model-level reliability results for every nameplate. Filling those gaps with brand averages would imply more certainty than the evidence supports.
Why Cadillac’s study results can appear to conflict
J.D. Power’s VDS is retrospective: its 2025 edition surveyed owners of 2022 vehicles after three years. The IQS concerns early ownership. CR’s 2025 model pages provide model-year comparisons and predictions based on its own subscriber-survey approach. A nameplate can receive an early-quality award for one model year and still have a less favorable predicted reliability assessment for another; neither finding is a substitute for the other.

- 【Cadillac 1:24 Diecast Model】 This 1/24 scale diecast model is crafted from premium alloy with a sleek glossy finish that resists scratches, fading, and rust. Every exterior detail is faithfully reproduced: the signature grille, the iconic hood ornament, and the sharp body lines that define the real SUV. The high-quality paintwork captures the vehicle's sophisticated styling while maintaining its luster over time. Whether displayed on a shelf, desk, or in a glass cabinet, this model commands attention from discerning collectors who demand precision and authenticity
- 【Alloy SUV model with light and sound】 More than just a static model – press the steering wheel to activate working LED headlights and realistic sound effects, with three light modes to choose from: off, steady on, or trigger-activated. Then open it up. All four doors swing open with smooth resistance. The hood lifts to reveal a detailed engine bay, and the trunk opens to showcase the cargo area. Inside, the front seats slide and recline – a level of detail rarely seen at this scale. With seven opening components, this SUV invites you to explore every inch of its design inside and out
- 【A little car hides big fun】 Pull it back, release, and watch it race forward – the pull-back motor delivers instant driving fun. Meanwhile, the four-wheel independent suspension system mimics real SUV handling, absorbing bumps as it rolls across desks or tabletops. The steering wheel is mechanically linked to the front wheels, allowing you to actually steer and turn just like the real vehicle. Combined with opening doors, hood, and trunk, this model offers hands-on enjoyment that static displays simply cannot match
- 【The perfect gift】 Measuring just 9.8 x 4.9 x 4.7 inches and weighing 1.32 lbs, this compact model fits perfectly anywhere – on a desk for a quick escape, on a shelf as curated decor, in a display case alongside your collection, or as a centerpiece in an office. The included display stand adds a polished, museum-quality touch for showcasing. Housed in an exquisite gift-ready box, it arrives ready for presentation – no extra wrapping needed. Perfect as a birthday gift, scale model collectors, or as a memorable present for any car lover
- 【Durable + After-Sales Support】 Constructed from premium-grade diecast metal with reinforced metal hinges on all opening parts – four doors, hood, and trunk – this SUV is engineered for longevity. The alloy body resists scratches and dents from regular handling, while the moving parts are designed for repeated operation without loosening over time. It's a rare model that balances collectible-grade precision with daily-handling durability. Backed by responsive customer support, your satisfaction is guaranteed. Brand-level context also needs careful handling. In the VDS, Cadillac recorded 169 PP100, compared with the 2025 study’s industry average of 202 PP100, and ranked second among premium brands. These figures apply to Cadillac’s brand-level VDS result for the 2022 vehicles surveyed, not to each 2025 model. The study’s cross-industry averages were 241 PP100 for new 2022 model launches and 196 PP100 for carryover models; those are not Cadillac-specific figures. J.D. Power director of auto benchmarking Jason Norton said of the vehicles in the study, “Supply chain issues, record-high vehicle prices, and personnel disruption in the wake of the pandemic were problematic.” That is context about the production era, not an explanation or diagnosis for a particular Cadillac. See the full VDS release.
For another, separate early-ownership measure, Cadillac recorded 208 PP100 against a 192 PP100 industry average in the 2025 IQS, as reported by GM Authority. Do not compare that result directly with Cadillac’s VDS score as if the two studies measured the same period or outcome.

What to check before buying a specific Cadillac
Population-level studies can help narrow a shortlist, but they cannot tell you whether one particular car has been cared for or has an unresolved problem. For the vehicle you are considering, check:
Quick Recap
- Exact model year, trim and drivetrain. A result for one year or configuration may not describe another.
- Recall status. Check whether applicable recalls have been completed for that vehicle.
- Service and ownership records. Look for consistent maintenance documentation and investigate gaps or repeated repairs.
- Independent inspection findings. Have the specific vehicle inspected, including any systems or symptoms of concern noted during a test drive.
