That makes it an interesting option for riders who need to store or transport a scooter in limited space. It still weighs 16.2 kg, however, so the small folded dimensions do not automatically make it easy to carry. Its comfort, stability and range claims are manufacturer-published rather than independently verified, so the best fit depends on your storage needs, route and expectations.
What is the Pure Advance Flex?
Pure’s 2023 listing called the model the Pure Advance Flex; its current product page shortens the name to Flex. Its distinctive design folds into a compact package, and Pure says it can be unfolded in five steps. Unlike a conventional scooter stance, the Flex puts the rider facing forward. Pure presents that position and its steering stabilisation as comfort and stability advantages, but the available product information does not include an independent handling test to verify those claims.
Pure’s page also quotes F1 driver Lando Norris saying, “This new format is a game changer.” That is an endorsement, not a technical assessment of the scooter’s performance.
How compact is the Flex when folded?
Pure lists folded dimensions of 57 × 30 × 62 cm and a weight of 16.2 kg. Those figures describe a scooter that takes up relatively little space when folded, but dimensions alone cannot establish whether it will fit a particular car boot, locker or storage compartment. Measure the intended space, allowing room for handles or other protruding parts.

The carrying weight also matters. At 16.2 kg, the Flex may be awkward to lift up stairs or carry for more than a short distance, even if its folded shape is convenient to store. Pure lists a maximum load of 120 kg.
Range and power: why Pure’s figures differ
Pure’s legacy 2023 listing advertised up to 24.8 miles of range and 710W peak power. Its later performance page reports a retested maximum range of 52 km (32.3 miles) and 924W maximum power, explaining that Pure changed its range methodology and that the scooter itself has not changed. These are different manufacturer presentations, not independent test results; the higher range should not be treated as a guarantee of what a rider will achieve.

A separate current Pure specification page lists a 40 km range, with a 500W nominal motor and 900W maximum power. Keep the page versions distinct rather than combining the figures into one definitive specification. Pure says actual range varies with speed, rider weight and height, tyre pressure, terrain and hills, stop-start frequency, temperature and wind. It also explains that manufacturers commonly test maximum range at 15 km/h in optimal conditions and describes its retest as an attempt to make comparisons like-for-like; that explanation is Pure’s account, not an independently audited standard.
Pure lists a top speed of 15.5 mph (25 km/h) and three speed modes. Those listed figures do not establish how quickly the scooter reaches top speed or how its performance changes on hills.

The equipment list gives useful buying details, but it is not a substitute for independent braking, lighting or weather testing. An IP rating should not be read as a promise that every component is safe in every wet-weather situation.
Who is the Flex suited to?
It may suit riders who:
- Need a scooter that folds into a compact listed footprint for storage or transport.
- Prefer a forward-facing stance and are willing to judge its feel in person rather than rely on manufacturer comfort claims.
- Have a practical way to move a 16.2 kg scooter when it is not being ridden.
Look elsewhere or compare carefully if you:
- Need a scooter that is easy to carry up stairs or over a long distance.
- Require independently verified range, handling or braking results before buying.
- Need confidence that the folded scooter fits a specific vehicle or tight compartment; check the actual space against the listed dimensions.
UK legal use: check before riding
Pure’s product page says that in the UK e-scooters may currently be used only on private land with the landowner’s permission, and that use on public roads, cycle paths, bridleways and pavements is illegal. This is a jurisdiction-specific statement from Pure, not a substitute for current official legal guidance. Check the rules that apply where you live before using the scooter.

What to confirm before buying
- Exact model and listing: confirm whether the item is the Advance Flex or the current Flex listing, and check the specifications attached to that exact product.
- Price and terms: Pure’s current page showed £899 when reviewed, but price and availability can change. That page listed a 12-month warranty and 30-day money-back guarantee; the legacy reboxed listing showed a six-month warranty, so confirm the terms for the precise item and condition.
- What is in the box: the legacy listing mentioned a tyre pump, but package contents may vary by market or version. Check the seller’s current product information rather than assuming it is included.
- Manual and support: Pure’s support index includes Advance Flex in its digital manuals range.
- Legal and route fit: verify local rules and consider whether the scooter’s listed range, top speed and weight work for your actual journeys.
