There is no universal winner. The Bajaj Pulsar 180 is a petrol motorcycle built around an engine, fuel stops and conventional long-distance flexibility. The Revolt RV BlazeX is an electric city commuter whose usefulness depends on charging access, daily distance and how its stated range works for your route. Choose the Pulsar if you want petrol refuelling and an engine-led ride; choose the BlazeX if predictable urban trips, home charging and electric operation matter more.
This is not a like-for-like performance contest. Bajaj publishes engine output and fuel-tank capacity, while Revolt publishes an IDC range and charging time. Those figures answer different questions, so the sensible purchase decision starts with your routine rather than a single headline number.

Petrol engine versus electric motor: the decision that matters most
What the Pulsar 180’s figures tell you
Bajaj lists a 178.61 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder DTSi petrol engine. Its maximum output is 17 PS at 8,500 rpm and its peak torque is 15 Nm. These are engine measures: they describe how much power and twisting force the petrol drivetrain can produce at specified engine speeds. The listed 15-litre tank gives you a familiar refuelling routine, with the practical distance between fuel stops depending on riding conditions and fuel economy. The available source does not establish a verified mileage figure, so it would be misleading to turn the tank size into a claimed range.

An engine motorcycle suits riders who regularly leave the city, cannot guarantee access to a socket, or prefer to restore usable energy in the time it takes to visit a fuel station. It also keeps the ownership routine familiar to anyone already comfortable with petrol motorcycles: monitor fuel, follow the service schedule supplied for your market, and use the dealer network that can support the model. Specific Pulsar maintenance intervals and warranty wording were not established in the cited material; obtain them in writing before booking.
What the BlazeX’s figures tell you
Revolt describes the RV BlazeX as an electric city commuter. Its product page states a 150 km IDC range and an 85 km/h top speed in the FAQ. IDC is a standardized manufacturer test-cycle figure, not an independently measured promise for every rider. Traffic, speed, payload, temperature, tyre pressure, hills, riding mode and battery condition can all affect actual distance. Because no controlled real-world range test is available here, use 150 km as a planning reference rather than a guaranteed distance.
Revolt says the battery is removable and that a portable charger can be used from a standard socket. That can be useful for an apartment, office or home without a dedicated charging installation, but you should confirm the battery’s weight, carrying procedure, socket condition, charging location and the exact equipment supplied with your chosen version. “Standard socket” describes the manufacturer’s stated capability; it does not remove the need for a safe, dry, properly rated electrical connection.

The BlazeX’s electric routine works best when most trips are within a predictable urban radius and you can charge between rides. Instead of stopping for petrol, you plan around a plug, charging time and a sensible reserve. If your daily route regularly approaches the practical limit of the battery, or if you often make unplanned detours, the petrol Pulsar may be less stressful even if the electric bike is otherwise attractive.
Specifications and equipment
| Specification or feature | Pulsar 180 | RV BlazeX | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Engine or motor description | 178.61 cc air-cooled single-cylinder DTSi engine | Electric drivetrain; removable battery stated by Revolt | Different propulsion systems cannot be ranked by displacement versus battery range. |
| Maximum power | 17 PS at 8,500 rpm | Not stated in the cited product information | Do not infer an electric power figure from the 150 km range. |
| Torque | 15 Nm | Not stated in the cited product information | No verified torque comparison is available. |
| Energy storage | 15-litre petrol tank | Battery capacity not stated in the cited material | Tank volume and IDC range are not equivalent measures. |
| Top speed | Not stated in the cited current page information | 85 km/h, as listed in the product FAQ | Check the exact variant and local specification before relying on this figure. |
| Display and connectivity | Fully digital LCD console with Bluetooth | 6-inch display; MyRevolt app connectivity | Confirm phone compatibility and the functions enabled for your region. |
| Safety hardware listed | Dual disc brakes and ABS | Specific brake and ABS details were not established in the cited material | Ask the dealer for the exact braking equipment on the quoted version. |
| Rear suspension | Twin gas-filled rear shock absorbers | Not stated in the cited material | Ride quality cannot be declared from these sources alone. |
| Seat-height information | Not stated in the cited material | Product page presents 780 mm and 815 mm in a two-column, variant-like layout | Verify which seat height applies to the model you will buy. |
The Pulsar page’s Bluetooth-enabled LCD console, dual discs with ABS and twin gas-filled rear shocks are listed features, not an independent assessment of braking or comfort. Likewise, the BlazeX’s display and app functions are manufacturer descriptions. Arrange a physical inspection and test ride to check reach to the ground, handlebar position, switchgear and low-speed balance.
Range, charging and trip planning
Use the BlazeX’s IDC number conservatively
Revolt’s 150 km IDC figure is useful for comparing the manufacturer’s own product positioning, but it is not a real-world guarantee. Build your own planning margin. For example, calculate your round trip, add likely errands, and keep enough reserve to reach a charging point if traffic or weather changes. Do not assume that a 150 km IDC claim means 150 km of unrestricted highway travel.

Ask the dealer to explain the battery state-of-charge display, charging cut-off behavior, portable-charger specifications, warranty exclusions and what happens if the battery is stored for a prolonged period. If you remove the battery, confirm where it can be carried safely and whether your building permits charging in that location. A removable pack solves some access problems; it does not make every room, extension lead or shared socket suitable.

Understand the 3-hour-30-minute charging statement
Revolt lists 3 hours 30 minutes for a 0–80% charge. That is a manufacturer-stated charging time under the conditions assumed by the company. It is not a promise that every partial charge, socket or temperature will produce the same result. The figure also describes 0–80%, not a full 0–100% time. Plan overnight or between-shift charging accordingly, and ask whether the quoted time applies to the charger supplied with the exact variant.
When petrol convenience outweighs charging efficiency
The Pulsar’s 15-litre tank means you carry liquid fuel rather than waiting for an electrical charge. That can be decisive for riders with irregular schedules, long intercity journeys or no reliable place to charge. It does not establish lower running cost, because fuel consumption, petrol prices, service expenses and riding distance are not supplied here. Compare your local costs using written estimates rather than assuming that either powertrain automatically costs less.

Connected features and day-to-day usability
Pulsar 180 console
Bajaj lists a fully digital LCD console with Bluetooth. Before purchase, ask which phone functions are supported, whether navigation or call information requires a specific application, and whether the functions continue to work when the phone is in a pocket. Bluetooth hardware alone does not describe every software feature or its availability in every market.
BlazeX app and alerts
Revolt describes MyRevolt connectivity for battery and bike status, geofencing, live tracking and SOS alerts. These features can help an owner monitor a parked vehicle or share an emergency signal, but they depend on the vehicle’s communications service, a compatible phone and account setup. Confirm data, subscription, privacy and network requirements with Revolt before treating any feature as always available. The cited information does not independently verify response times or coverage.

Prices: why a direct winner cannot be declared from list prices
Pulsar price needs clarification
Bajaj’s current product page places ₹1,22,490 in its top area and ₹1,11,669 in a lower price section, both described in a Delhi ex-showroom context. The page therefore contains two different figures. Neither should be silently selected, treated as an on-road amount or presented as a discount. Ask a Delhi dealer to identify the current ex-showroom figure, effective date, variant and every additional charge on a written quotation.

BlazeX price and the historical launch offer
Revolt’s current product page lists ₹1,34,990 and notes that on-road pricing varies by city with RTO and insurance. Treat ₹1,34,990 as a manufacturer-listed price that must be date-stamped and checked locally. Revolt’s launch announcement of 25 February 2025 stated an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹1,14,990; that was a historical launch price, not the current price. The announcement is available as a PDF from Revolt/RattanIndia. Revolt also maintains a press announcements page where dates and announcements can be checked.
Compare written on-road quotes
For either motorcycle, request a quote that separates ex-showroom price, registration or RTO charges, insurance, accessories, handling or documentation fees, taxes where applicable, finance costs and any time-limited offer. Compare quotes from the same city and on the same date. A lower headline price can disappear once insurance, registration and mandatory equipment are added, while a promotion may expire before delivery.
Warranty, service and support questions
What Revolt states for the BlazeX
Revolt lists five years or 60,000 km of vehicle coverage and eight years or 80,000 km of battery coverage. These are manufacturer-stated limits; the applicable term is subject to the written warranty’s conditions, exclusions, scheduled maintenance and ownership requirements. Ask for the warranty document before paying a booking amount, including details on battery degradation, charger coverage, roadside assistance, transfer to a subsequent owner and the process for making a claim.
What still needs confirmation for the Pulsar
The cited current Pulsar material does not establish equivalent warranty duration, kilometre limits or a maintenance schedule. Request Bajaj’s current warranty booklet, service intervals, consumables list and labour rates from the selling dealer. Confirm whether roadside assistance, extended coverage or regional conditions apply. Without those documents, a warranty comparison would be speculation.
Check support where you actually ride
Ask both dealers where scheduled service, diagnostic work, battery-related repairs and accident repairs are performed. For the BlazeX, find out whether a removable battery can be inspected locally or must be transported to a particular facility. For the Pulsar, ask about parts availability and typical booking lead times in your city. The best specification sheet is of little use if routine support is inconvenient.
Which bike should you buy?
Choose the Pulsar 180 when these conditions describe you
- You want a petrol motorcycle and do not want your trip plan to depend on a charging socket.
- Your riding includes unpredictable detours, intercity travel or routes where charging access is uncertain.
- You value the published 17 PS, 15 Nm engine specification, a 15-litre tank and conventional refuelling.
- The dealer can provide a satisfactory written on-road quote, warranty booklet and service plan.
- You prefer the listed dual-disc ABS hardware and are comfortable with engine-motorcycle maintenance.
Choose the RV BlazeX when these conditions describe you
- Your normal use is urban and your daily distance leaves a practical reserve below the manufacturer’s 150 km IDC claim.
- You have a safe, reliable place to charge and can accommodate the stated 0–80% charging routine.
- A removable battery and portable charger are useful for your home or workplace setup.
- MyRevolt status, geofencing, tracking and SOS functions matter to you after confirming connectivity and account requirements.
- The local dealer confirms the quoted variant, seat height, warranty conditions and service support.
Pause the purchase and investigate further if
- The dealer cannot reconcile the price, variant or included equipment with the manufacturer’s page.
- You cannot identify a safe charging location or a realistic backup plan for longer trips.
- You are choosing solely on the 150 km IDC number, without a reserve for your actual route.
- You are treating the 2025 introductory BlazeX price as though it were current.
- You need a warranty comparison but have not received the Pulsar’s written terms.
A practical buying checklist
- Map your real route. Record weekday round-trip distance, weekend use, hills, traffic, passenger loads and the nearest reliable charging or fuel points.
- Inspect both motorcycles in person. Check seat reach, the applicable BlazeX seat-height version, handlebar comfort, mirrors, stand operation, storage and low-speed balance.
- Verify the specification sheet. Match the quoted variant to the listed display, brakes, ABS, suspension, battery equipment and connectivity features.
- Test the ownership routine. For the BlazeX, demonstrate battery removal and charging with the supplied portable charger. For the Pulsar, ask how fuel, servicing and routine checks are handled.
- Collect documents. Obtain warranty terms, service intervals, exclusions, charger information and contact details for technical support.
- Get a dated, itemized on-road quote. Resolve the Pulsar page’s two Delhi ex-showroom figures and the BlazeX’s city-specific RTO and insurance additions.
- Decide using your constraint. If charging access is the constraint, the petrol Pulsar is the safer fit; if predictable urban range and charging are the constraint, the electric BlazeX deserves priority.
Bottom line
The Bajaj Pulsar 180 and Revolt RV BlazeX solve different transport problems. The Pulsar offers a 178.61 cc petrol engine rated at 17 PS and 15 Nm, a 15-litre tank and familiar refuelling. The BlazeX offers an electric city-commuter format, an 85 km/h listed top speed, a 150 km IDC claim, stated 0–80% charging in 3 hours 30 minutes and manufacturer-listed battery and vehicle coverage. Buy the Pulsar for fuel-stop flexibility and uncertain, varied routes; buy the BlazeX for a chargeable urban routine that fits its real-world reserve. Make the final call only after a local test ride, a safe charging or fuelling plan and a written on-road quote.
