Proton Deputy CEO Ir. Abdul Rashid Musa said the company has “at least two more launches to come before the end of the year,” according to a report published by SoyaCincau on 5 October 2026. Proton had not identified those launches. The report’s suggestions—a Saga Cross, also referred to as AMA02, and an e.MAS electric sedan—remain speculation, not confirmed models.
What Proton has said about its remaining 2026 launches
SoyaCincau quoted Deputy CEO Ir. Abdul Rashid Musa as saying: “We still have at least two more launches to come before the end of the year, while our export business is targeting further growth in sales of both Proton and Geely badged vehicles originated from Malaysia, in overseas markets.” The statement establishes a reported expectation of at least two launches before the end of 2026; it does not name the vehicles or say that both will be passenger cars for Malaysian buyers.
SoyaCincau’s 5 October 2026 report says Proton was keeping the identities secret and presents the Saga Cross and e.MAS sedan as educated guesses. No official Proton announcement in the available material confirms either vehicle.
Is the Saga Cross confirmed?
No. SoyaCincau reports that a vehicle identified as code AMA02 had been spotted testing and that a supplier claimed production would begin in October 2026. The outlet speculates that it may be a compact crossover based on Proton’s Advanced Modular Architecture (AMA). It also mentions industry rumors of internal-combustion and hybrid powertrains. These details are reporting and rumor, not Proton-confirmed specifications, production timing, or a launch date.

Proton’s official release for the All-New Saga, launched on 27 November 2025, confirms that the existing Saga is built on the AMA platform. That does not establish that a separate crossover called Saga Cross or AMA02 exists. In a separate 4 December 2025 Technology Showcase announcement, Proton said an unnamed model would debut publicly before launch in early 2026; the release did not identify it as AMA02 or call it a Saga Cross.
Is an e.MAS electric sedan confirmed?
No. SoyaCincau suggests that one of the launches could be a rebadged Geely Galaxy A7 EV under Proton’s e.MAS brand. The report notes that the Galaxy A7 is also offered as a plug-in hybrid in China, but that is not evidence Proton will use that model, sell a sedan, or offer a particular powertrain. Proton has not officially confirmed the donor vehicle, model name, price, specifications, or launch date in the cited material.

What the current All-New Saga actually offers
Proton’s published figures apply to the All-New Saga launched in November 2025, not to the rumored Saga Cross. Its release lists a 1.5-litre i-GT engine with CVT and fuel consumption of 4.9 L/100 km under the Malaysia Driving Cycle. The listed variants and Peninsular Malaysia on-the-road prices at the time of release were:

These are historical launch prices for the current Saga, before the launch rebates stated in Proton’s release; they are not prices or estimates for a future crossover. The same release described a five-year/150,000 km warranty and three free labour services under Pro-Warranty, subject to terms. Its offers were time-limited through 31 December 2025 and should not be treated as benefits for any future model.
