Praga Bohema Claims Dunsfold Record for a Production Pure-Combustion Road Car

Praga says the 700 bhp Bohema lapped Dunsfold in 1:09.8 on road tyres. The manufacturer calls it a production pure-combustion road-car record, but the claim is not independently homologated in the reviewed sources.

Praga says its Bohema recorded a 1:09.8 lap of Dunsfold Park—the former Top Gear test track—on 29 May 2025, making it the fastest production pure-combustion road car to lap the circuit. The claim is narrower than an outright track record: Praga noted that a hybrid Aston Martin Valkyrie had reportedly lapped in 1:09.6 earlier in 2025. The Bohema time and its stated VBox verification come from the car’s manufacturer, not an independent timing authority.

What the Bohema’s Dunsfold time means

The reported 1:09.8 is a Dunsfold lap time, and Praga’s record category is specifically a production pure-combustion road car. It does not mean the Bohema was the fastest vehicle of any kind around the circuit. Praga’s announcement placed the time close to the 1:09.6 reportedly set earlier in 2025 by the 1,140 bhp hybrid Aston Martin Valkyrie.

Those distinctions matter when comparing lap times: the category of vehicle, powertrain, tyres, driver and timing provenance all affect what a claimed record actually establishes. Praga’s announcement does not establish that the lap was independently homologated.

How Praga says the lap was recorded

According to Praga’s 29 May 2025 announcement, ex-Stig Ben Collins drove the Bohema on standard road tyres, and VBox verified the time. Praga also says Collins drove the car to Dunsfold and that the team completed about half a dozen hot laps in the available time. These are details reported by the manufacturer; the reviewed sources do not provide independent verification of the attempt.

Praga quoted Collins describing the run as “Setting such a fast time at Dunsfold on regular road tyres was such a thrill.” He also called “fastest ever pure-petrol road car at the first attempt” a good result. Both comments were published by Praga.

What the Bohema brings to the lap

Praga’s current product page lists a 700 bhp, 3.8-litre six-cylinder engine, rear-wheel drive and a carbon-fibre monocoque and body. Top Gear’s separate 2025 road test identifies the engine as a Nissan R35 GT-R VR38DETT twin-turbo V6 tuned by Litchfield. Praga also claims 900 kg of downforce at 250 km/h and a top speed above 300 km/h; those are manufacturer specifications, not measurements from the Dunsfold announcement.

Top Gear’s 28 August 2025 road test offers independent driving impressions from a separate multi-circuit test, but it does not independently verify the Dunsfold lap. The distinction is useful: a road test can describe how a car drives without confirming a specific timed record.

A later result at Spa is a separate claim

On 12 August 2026, Praga reported a 2:21.42 lap of Spa-Francorchamps during a customer track day on road-legal tyres. That is a later manufacturer-reported result at a different circuit and under a different event format; it is not a direct comparison with the Bohema’s Dunsfold time. Praga test driver Aleš Jirásek said the group was at Spa to drive with customers, not to chase a record.
