The year ranges are not a guarantee of fitment for every car. Porsche says features depend on vehicle model, equipment and country, so owners should have a Porsche Centre confirm the correct version for their specific car.
Which Porsche models are covered?
Porsche announced two model-specific versions of PCCM Plus covering more than 300,000 911, Cayman and Boxster vehicles across the named model lines. The two groups overlap in model years, but they are not interchangeable: identify the car by generation as well as year.

| Variant B | 911, Cayman, Boxster | 2012–2016 | 991.1 and 981 |
The announcement describes them as “two model-specific versions.” These ranges refer to the generations Porsche names; do not use the year alone to infer that a particular trim or factory audio configuration will accept the unit. Porsche’s PCCM product information says individual feature availability depends on the vehicle model, equipment and country.
What does the PCCM Plus retrofit add?
PCCM Plus is a physical Porsche Classic infotainment and navigation system intended for specified Porsche generations, rather than a generic replacement head unit. Porsche presents it as an update that brings navigation and connected functionality to eligible cars.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to check whether it fits your car
- Identify the model and generation. Establish whether the car is a 997.2 or 987.2 from the 2009–2013 group, or a 991.1 or 981 from the 2012–2016 group.
- Have the vehicle equipment checked. Ask a Porsche Centre to check the specific car’s factory equipment and country against the correct model-specific PCCM Plus version.
- Confirm the practical details. Ask the Centre to verify the part, installation requirements, local price and whether it is in stock. Porsche says the system is available through Porsche Centres worldwide, but that does not establish immediate inventory at an individual dealer.
Is this the same as earlier PCCM systems?
No. Porsche has offered earlier PCCM and PCCM Plus versions for older generations. The expanded 2009–2016 offering is a separate generation with its own model-specific variants; an earlier system’s fitment should not be assumed to apply to these cars. Porsche’s announcement of the expansion is available at Porsche Newsroom.
Availability and pricing
Porsche announced Porsche Centres worldwide as the route to obtain the new generation. The announcement does not provide a price or confirm market-specific stock, so owners need to contact a local Centre for both.
