Porsche Calls the Cayenne Turbo Electric Its Most Powerful Production Car—With a 2026 Update

Porsche’s 850 kW headline applies to the Turbo Electric with overboost. Here’s how the SUV’s power modes compare—and what Porsche changed with the 2026 Coupé models.

Porsche called the Cayenne Turbo Electric its most powerful production Porsche when it launched in November 2025. The headline output is 850 kW (1,156 PS) with overboost; Porsche specifies up to 1,500 Nm when Launch Control is activated. The claim is Porsche’s own, and it has since been applied to a newer variant: in April 2026, Porsche described the Cayenne Turbo Coupé Electric as its most powerful production Porsche to date.

What Porsche’s “most powerful” claim means

The claim refers to a particular Cayenne variant and a peak operating mode, not the standard output of every Cayenne Electric. Porsche’s November 2025 technical press kit called the Turbo Electric “the most powerful production Porsche of all time.” Its stated maximum is 850 kW (1,156 PS) with overboost. Porsche lists up to 1,500 Nm when Launch Control is activated.

Those figures should not be read as ordinary continuous output: Porsche separately lists up to 630 kW (857 PS) in Normal mode for the Turbo, and a 130 kW (176 PS) Push-to-Pass boost lasting 10 seconds. The manufacturer’s figures are specifications, not an independent comparative test or record certification. Porsche’s Cayenne Electric technical press kit

How the Cayenne Electric versions compare

The initial all-electric range comprised the all-wheel-drive Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric. The figures below are Porsche’s published specifications; the performance modes are noted because a peak Launch Control or overboost number is not directly comparable to Normal-mode output.

Model Published output Torque 0–100 km/h Top speed
Cayenne Electric 300 kW (408 PS) Normal; 325 kW (442 PS) with Launch Control 835 Nm with Launch Control 4.8 seconds 230 km/h
Cayenne Turbo Electric Up to 630 kW (857 PS) Normal; 850 kW (1,156 PS) with overboost Up to 1,500 Nm with Launch Control 2.5 seconds 260 km/h

Porsche says both models use permanent-magnet synchronous motors at the front and rear. It attributes the Turbo’s output to a drive system that includes direct oil cooling for the rear motor and a function-integrated high-voltage battery with double-sided cooling. Porsche says the rear-motor cooling supports high continuous output and efficiency; those are manufacturer engineering claims, not independent findings. The company also says the Cayenne Electric can recuperate at up to 600 kW, depending on speed, temperature and battery state of charge. That maximum is not a measure of real-world energy savings. What changed with the 2026 Cayenne Coupé Electric

On April 30, 2026, Porsche announced Cayenne Coupé Electric, Cayenne S Coupé Electric and Cayenne Turbo Coupé Electric. Porsche described the Turbo Coupé as its most powerful production Porsche to date, listing 1,156 PS (850 kW/1,139 hp), a 0–100 km/h time of 2.5 seconds and a potential top speed of 260 km/h.

Coupé model Published output 0–100 km/h
Cayenne Coupé Electric 442 PS (325 kW/435 hp) with Launch Control 4.8 seconds
Cayenne S Coupé Electric 666 PS (490 kW/657 hp) 3.8 seconds
Cayenne Turbo Coupé Electric 1,156 PS (850 kW/1,139 hp) 2.5 seconds

Porsche reports a drag coefficient of 0.23 for the Coupé versus 0.25 for the SUV, and up to 18 km (11 miles) more combined WLTP range than the equivalent SUV, depending on model. These are Porsche-published figures; the range difference is not a single result applicable to every version. Porsche’s April 2026 Cayenne Coupé Electric announcement

How to read Porsche’s charging figures

For the Cayenne Coupé Electric range, Porsche says the 800-volt system can charge at up to 390 kW on a suitable DC charger and up to 400 kW in the right conditions. It specifies 10–80 percent in 16 minutes at maximum DC charging power. These are conditional maximum-rate claims, not a promise that every charging stop will take 16 minutes.

Which model is the record-holder?

For the November 2025 launch claim, the model was the Cayenne Turbo Electric SUV. By Porsche’s April 30, 2026 announcement, the claim was attached to the Cayenne Turbo Coupé Electric. The superlative is therefore best treated as a dated Porsche claim about a specified variant, rather than an independently certified or permanently unique record for the SUV body style.
