Short answer: The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Manthey Kit is a track-focused upgrade developed by Porsche and Manthey. In the United States, an authorized Porsche Center takes the order and performs the installation. Porsche says the vehicle manufacturer’s warranty is unaffected, but that statement is not a blanket promise that every modified part, repair, or track-related damage will be covered. Porsche and Manthey do not publish a single kit-specific maintenance interval or universal post-track checklist, so owners should follow the service plan for their exact car, market and model year and obtain track-use inspection advice from a Porsche Center.
What the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Manthey Kit changes
The Manthey Kit is a model-specific package for the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, intended primarily for circuit use rather than as a general road-comfort option. Porsche describes the development as a joint Porsche-Manthey effort focused on aerodynamic and chassis performance. The package can also include braking hardware and track-oriented brake pads, depending on the configuration selected at order.

It is not one universal box with an identical contents list in every market. Manthey’s component listing includes aerodynamic air guides, a mesh guard, carbon-fiber body and underbody parts, carbon aerodiscs, braided brake lines, brake pads and a three- or four-way adjustable coilover kit. The exact combination can vary by selection, so the authorized seller should provide a build sheet that identifies what is included, what is optional and what is already fitted to the car.
Core hardware identified by Porsche and Manthey
- Track-oriented aerodynamic parts, including air guides and carbon exterior and underbody components.
- A mesh guard intended to protect relevant cooling or airflow areas.
- Carbon aerodiscs for the wheels.
- A three- or four-way adjustable coilover chassis, depending on the selected specification.
- Braided brake lines and optional track brake pads.
Because the package is designed around the GT4 RS, owners should not assume that a component from another 718 model is interchangeable. Confirm the vehicle identification, model year, selected kit level and local homologation before paying a deposit.

How installation works
U.S. ordering and fitting route
Porsche’s U.S. announcement says owners order the kit through an authorized Porsche Center, which also handles installation. That route gives the center responsibility for confirming compatibility, supplying the selected parts and recording the work in the vehicle’s service history. Ask the center to state whether alignment, ride-height setup, corner balancing and any required calibration are included in its installation quotation; the published announcement does not establish a universal labor scope.
- Provide the vehicle details. Give the Porsche Center the VIN, model year, current options and intended use. Specifically identify whether the car has the optional front-axle-lift system.
- Review the kit configuration. Obtain a written list of standard and optional items. Manthey’s public component list is selection-dependent, so do not treat every listed part as automatically included.
- Confirm local legality and availability. Ask which parts are approved for road use in your jurisdiction and whether the quoted package is currently available there.
- Get an itemized quote. Separate parts, installation, alignment or setup work, taxes and any optional visible-carbon package. Porsche’s announced U.S. MSRP excluded installation.
- Book the installation with an authorized center. Agree on the handover condition, requested suspension setup and documentation to be supplied when the car is collected.
- Document the final setup. Keep the invoice, component serial or part numbers, alignment figures, ride-height settings and any instructions supplied by the center.
Other markets and Manthey partners
Porsche’s international announcement described sales through Porsche Centers worldwide, with country-specific pricing in Porsche’s accessory finder. It described a European launch planned for December 2023 and other markets to follow; that archived launch plan is not proof of present availability. Manthey also lists an installation-partner locator. The cited U.S. channel may not describe the ordering process in every country, so local Porsche or Manthey representatives should confirm who is authorized to sell and fit the kit.
How much does the kit cost?
Porsche’s May 10, 2024 U.S. announcement listed a $53,946 MSRP for the kit, excluding installation. That is a historical announced price, not a current quotation. Dealer labor, taxes, shipping, exchange rates, regional certification and the selected component mix can change the amount substantially. Request a current written quote before treating the figure as a budget.

The same announcement listed an additional visible-carbon package at $5,890. It replaces the front-fender louvers and adds a larger rear-spoiler gurney flap. Porsche said the larger flap could increase rear-axle downforce by up to four percent when the wing is at its most aggressive angle. The announced price is also historical and should be rechecked locally.

Does the Manthey Kit void the GT4 RS warranty?
Porsche’s U.S. announcement uses the exact wording: “The manufacturer’s warranty for the 718 Cayman GT4 RS is unaffected.” That is Porsche’s statement about the vehicle manufacturer’s warranty. It should not be expanded into a guarantee that every repair, modified component, consumable or incident connected with track use will be covered.
Manthey’s coilover product page separately says: “Note: Road legality and warranty remain unchanged.” Manthey then advises customers to contact their Porsche Center. That narrower wording applies to the listed coilover product and the relevant vehicle and jurisdiction; it is not a substitute for the actual warranty terms.
Before installation, ask the selling center to explain how the warranty applies to the selected parts, installation workmanship, unrelated vehicle systems and damage caused by an accident, curb strike, misuse or competition. Keep the written answer with the purchase documents. Warranty administration can depend on country, vehicle specification and the diagnosing center.

The published Porsche and Manthey kit pages do not provide a universal Manthey-specific service interval or a formal after-track inspection checklist for the 718 Cayman GT4 RS. Do not infer oil, brake-fluid, fastener, suspension or alignment intervals from the existence of the kit.

Porsche Deutschland directs owners to the full service plan for the appropriate vehicle. It also states that wear parts, including brake pads, should be replaced at the recommended intervals or earlier when the wear limit is reached. That is general Porsche wear-part guidance, not a replacement for the service schedule for your exact GT4 RS model year and country.
A sensible owner handover checklist
Use the following as questions for the Porsche Center rather than as invented factory intervals:
- Which service plan applies to this VIN and model year?
- What inspection does Porsche recommend after a day on track?
- Which brake-pad wear limit and inspection method apply to the selected pads?
- Should the center record ride height, damper settings, alignment and corner weights after installation?
- What checks are required for braided lines, coilover adjusters, wheel hardware, aerodynamic fasteners and underbody panels?
- Which fluids, seals and consumables need condition checks after heavy circuit use?
- What signs require the car to be parked immediately rather than driven home?
Have the center write its track-use recommendations on the job sheet. A track session can expose wear or impact damage that a calendar-based road service does not capture, but the correct inspection scope must come from Porsche or a qualified technician familiar with this configuration.

Does the Manthey suspension work with front-axle lift?
Yes. Porsche says the coilover chassis is available for cars with and without the optional front-axle-lift system. The suspension is described as having four spring-strut positions and tool-free rebound and compression adjustment.

That compatibility does not mean every setup is identical. The center must confirm the selected spring and damper specification, ride height, lift-system clearance, alignment targets and the settings appropriate for the owner’s road and track use. Ask for the final settings in writing so they can be restored or changed deliberately rather than by guesswork.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What performance improvement is documented?
Porsche reported that, at approximately 124 mph with the rear wing in its track Performance position, the kit-equipped GT4 RS produced about 372 pounds of total downforce, compared with 196 pounds for the standard GT4 RS. These are manufacturer-reported figures under the stated configuration, not a guarantee for every car, wing angle, tire, temperature or circuit.
Porsche also reported a 7:03.121-minute Nürburgring Nordschleife lap by Jörg Bergmeister in a kit-equipped GT4 RS. Porsche’s international announcement says both the kit car and the standard comparison car used optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires and that the lap time was certified by a notary. Driver, tires, setup, weather, track conditions and test protocol all matter; a customer should not treat the published time as a predicted personal result.

Questions to settle before ordering
- Is the exact kit configuration currently approved and available in your country?
- Does the quotation include installation, alignment, setup and documentation?
- Which parts are optional rather than standard?
- Will the visible-carbon package be fitted, and what current price applies?
- How will the front-axle-lift system be accommodated?
- What warranty terms apply to each component and to installation workmanship?
- What service plan and post-track inspection procedure apply to your VIN?
- Which tires, brake pads and suspension settings does the center recommend for your intended circuits?
The package makes the most sense for an owner who will use the GT4 RS regularly on track and values documented aerodynamic and suspension changes. If the car is primarily a road car, discuss ride comfort, tire wear, noise, ground clearance, setup adjustability and the ongoing inspection burden before committing to the full specification.
