A Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor traveled 935.44 km (581.26 miles) on one charge, setting a Guinness World Records mark for the longest journey by a production battery-powered electric SUV. The attempt took place in Norwich, England, on 26–27 July 2025. It is an SUV-category record, not the current overall electric-car single-charge record.
How far did the Polestar 3 go on one charge?
Guinness World Records lists the distance as 935.44 km (581.26 miles), with the attempt lasting 22 hours 57 minutes. The record was set by the Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor. Guinness World Records’ entry identifies it as the longest journey by a production battery-powered electric SUV on a single charge.
The 2025 report rounded the distance to 935.5 km (581.3 miles). It also reported an average of 5.13 miles per kWh and cited a 438-mile WLTP range for the vehicle. T3’s report, republished by Yahoo Autos, describes those figures; the record distance is the result of this particular drive, not a standardized range rating or a routine range guarantee.
How was the record attempt made?
Three drivers—Sam Clarke, Kevin Booker and Richard Parker—shared the drive through mixed weather and traffic on English A roads and dual carriageways. The report says the car used Michelin EV tires on 20-inch wheels. It does not identify the tire model or full tire size, so those details should not be inferred.

Kevin Booker told T3: “There was a lot of standing water during part of the day, meaning more resistance from the tyres and lower efficiency.” The route and conditions help explain why this was a real-world record attempt, but they do not make its outcome directly comparable to a standardized range test.
Is the Polestar 3 the longest-range electric car in the world?
No—not if “electric car” means the broader category of battery-electric vehicles. Guinness lists an Audi A6 Sportback e-tron at 1,338.69 km in that category, achieved in Poland on 11–12 September 2026. Guinness defines the category as battery-powered vehicles propelled only by electric motors and excludes hybrids. The Audi record entry and Guinness’s category definition distinguish that result from the Polestar’s SUV-class record.

The Polestar result remains the record described specifically for a production battery-powered electric SUV. Record categories matter: a broader electric-car record and an SUV-only record answer different questions.
