This retrospective photo report focuses on the Festival’s mix of racing and road cars and the two TimeWalker models the 2017 coverage highlighted.
What the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed featured
Monochrome Watches’ 22 July 2017 report describes the Festival of Speed as an annual hill climb at the Goodwood Estate, bringing historic and modern motor-racing vehicles together with parades, historic-car exhibitions and manufacturer displays. It traces the event’s establishment at Goodwood House to Lord March in 1993.
The hill climb is the report’s central automotive scene. Its photographs and captions range across early motorized vehicles, vintage Ferraris and cars that had competed at Le Mans. A supercar parade added contemporary marques including Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Maserati, Aston Martin, Bugatti, Porsche and Pagani. One car singled out in a photo caption is the Eagle E-Type Low Drag GT.
Montblanc’s role and the TimeWalker connection
The report identifies Montblanc as the Festival’s official timekeeper in 2017. It links that event role to the TimeWalker collection, whose automotive and racing inspiration was traced to historic Minerva stopwatches used to time races. Davide Cerrato, then Head of Montblanc’s Watch Division, is named in the coverage.

The two TimeWalker watches featured
The report describes two models introduced at the event. Their reported specifications and 2017 prices are set out below; the prices are historical figures from Monochrome Watches, not current offers.
| Model | Reported specifications | Edition and 2017 price |
|---|---|---|
| TimeWalker Chronograph Automatic, red-gold version | 43 mm; automatic movement; ceramic bezel; black dial; brushed case. | Monochrome Watches reported $19,500 in 2017. Edition status is not stated in the report. |
| TimeWalker ExoTourbillon Minute Chronograph, black-DLC version | 44 mm; black dial with red accents; black-plated movement; monopusher column-wheel chronograph; off-centred hours and minutes; Exo-Tourbillon regulator. | Described as a 100-piece limited edition. Monochrome Watches reported a price of around $52,000 in 2017. |
How the watches differ
The red-gold Chronograph Automatic is presented as the more straightforward of the two: a 43 mm automatic chronograph with a ceramic bezel and brushed case. The 44 mm black-DLC ExoTourbillon adds the monopusher chronograph and the distinctive regulator, and the report specifies a 100-piece edition. Those contrasts reflect the 2017 article’s descriptions, not confirmation of current model specifications or availability.

What this retrospective does—and does not—establish
This is historical event coverage, not a current visitor guide or a statement about Montblanc’s present event role. Its watch prices describe what the 2017 report recorded; they do not establish today’s value, stock or resale price. Ticket information and current event arrangements likewise require up-to-date confirmation. The report provides descriptive coverage but no independently reported attendance, economic-impact or crowd-size statistics.
