No new production Peugeot 504 for the US has been confirmed in the official announcements covered here. Two recent-looking stories can cause confusion: Peugeot’s 2018 e-LEGEND was an electric, autonomous-driving concept inspired by the 504 Coupé, while its 2025 redesigned 504 estate was a unique tribute for a music performance. Neither announcement establishes a car headed for US dealerships.
What Peugeot has actually announced
The announcements point to two different projects, separated by seven years and created for different purposes. The e-LEGEND explored a possible design and technology direction; the estate redesign was made for a specific event. Peugeot’s announcements do not present either as a production 504.

What was the 2018 e-LEGEND?
Peugeot presented the e-LEGEND as a concept at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. Its design referenced the 504 Coupé, but its purpose was to express a vision for electric and autonomous driving—not to announce a new 504 for buyers. Peugeot Style Director Gilles Vidal described it as “A modern, sharper Coupé” drawing strength from the 504 Coupé’s design DNA. Peugeot’s announcement
Its four driving modes
The concept paired two autonomous modes with two manual-driving modes:

Concept figures, not new-504 specifications
Peugeot’s 2018 announcement listed a 100 kWh battery, 340 kW of power, 800 Nm of torque, all-wheel drive, a 600 km WLTP range and a claimed 0–100 km/h time of under four seconds. These are manufacturer-stated figures for the e-LEGEND concept; they are not specifications for a production 504. Peugeot’s 2018 announcement

What was the 2025 504 estate?
Peugeot described the 2025 estate redesign as “Une création unique” (“A unique creation”) made to accompany Rim’K’s performance at the Flammes 2025 ceremony. Its event-specific details included luggage on the roof, Tati-inspired seat fabric, a record player integrated into the dashboard and a Hypersquare steering wheel. The announcement presents a one-off tribute, not a production-car reveal. Peugeot’s 2025 announcement

The official announcements cited here do not confirm a production 504, a US launch, pricing, a dealer order process or US homologation. That is a statement about what these announcements establish—not proof that Peugeot could never announce a model in the future.

A genuine US-market return would need clearer evidence, such as a production-model announcement and US-specific details about specifications, pricing, ordering or homologation. Until Peugeot provides that kind of confirmation, the e-LEGEND’s concept specifications and the estate tribute should not be treated as evidence of a new 504 for sale.
