Peugeot Motocycles presented a production electric 103 at EICMA 2025, but its current product page does not state a retail price or sales date. It lists two versions—a 50 cc equivalent and a 125 cc equivalent—with different battery capacities and claimed ranges. This new vehicle is separate from a Noil conversion for existing 103 mopeds that was reported in 2024.
What is the electric Peugeot 103?
It is a newly built electric moped inspired by Peugeot’s original 103, not simply the old petrol model with a battery fitted. Peugeot says the production model followed its 2024 SPx electric project and was presented as a world premiere at EICMA 2025. The manufacturer describes it as a production model derived from that concept. Peugeot Motocycles’ product page does not establish when customer sales begin.
The 103 has a long history in France: Peugeot dates the original to 1971. In a 2021 anniversary article, the company described it as robust, simple and affordable, and said it became an icon for French riders and collectors. Peugeot lists two vehicle classes. These figures are the manufacturer’s published specifications; the reviewed page does not identify a test cycle for the range claims.

Peugeot also lists a 5-inch TFT dashboard and French manufacture for the model range. Its page does not provide a separate weight for the 50 cc equivalent version. Treat the range figures as claims rather than guaranteed real-world distances: riding conditions and use can affect the distance available between charges.
Chassis and equipment
Peugeot describes an aluminum monocoque chassis, single-sided rear arm, 37 mm Kayaba front fork, rear shock with linkage, central motor and Kevlar belt drive. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent performance or durability test results. Peugeot Motocycles’ product page

Is the electric Peugeot 103 a new moped or a conversion?
There are two distinct routes, and their figures should not be mixed. The production 103 is a new electric vehicle inspired by the 103. The retrofit described in 2024 involved converting an existing classic 103.

L’Argus reported on 19 April 2024 that Peugeot Motocycles partnered with retrofit company Noil. Its report, citing company information, gave the retrofit a four-hour full recharge time as well as the battery, range and starting-price figures above. Price and release date: what is confirmed?
Peugeot’s reviewed production-model page presents the 103 electric and its specifications but does not state a retail price or customer sales date. A presentation at EICMA 2025 is not, by itself, confirmation that the vehicle is on sale. Check with Peugeot Motocycles or an authorized dealer for current ordering and delivery information.

The €4,099 figure belongs to the Noil conversion as reported in April 2024. It should not be used as the price of the new production 103 or assumed to remain the retrofit’s current price.

A conversion may be possible through an approved system and installer, but eligibility depends on the vehicle, the conversion and the rules where it is registered. In France, the legal text sets requirements for conversion systems and installation, including prototype approval and installer conditions. It generally requires L-category vehicles to have been registered at least three years before conversion, with a stated exception for older mopeds under specified conditions. Which electric 103 route makes sense?
The production model is the relevant option if you want a new electric vehicle with Peugeot’s listed 50 cc or 125 cc equivalent class. A retrofit is the route to investigate if you own a classic 103 and want to retain that vehicle, subject to the system’s current availability and legal eligibility. The available information does not establish a current price or availability comparison between the two.
For the production model, compare the listed battery capacity, claimed range and vehicle class against your needs. For a retrofit, verify the current service offer, total price, installation details and legal eligibility directly with the provider and relevant authority.
