Neither is a universal winner. The Panigale V4 Lamborghini is a numbered, high-output superbike special edition aimed at buyers who want a V4, track-focused hardware and a collectible collaboration. The MY25 Streetfighter V2 is a lighter, lower naked motorcycle with a new 890 cc V2. Choose between them by riding purpose, physical fit, budget, local availability and whether the limited Lamborghini edition matters to you—not by peak horsepower alone.
Panigale V4 Lamborghini vs Streetfighter V2 at a glance

| Fuel tank | 17 litres | Not stated in the cited MY25 specification |
| Display | 6.9-inch TFT | 5-inch TFT; Road, Road Pro and Track information modes |
Every figure in this table is a Ducati-published specification. Ducati notes that equipment and specifications can vary by market. The Panigale output has separate global and USA/Canada/Mexico figures, so a listing from one region should not be presented as universal. The Streetfighter figures are for model year 2025 and should not be mixed with specifications from earlier Streetfighter V2 versions.

What each Ducati is designed to be
Panigale V4 Lamborghini: a numbered superbike collaboration
The Panigale V4 Lamborghini combines Ducati’s Panigale superbike platform with a Lamborghini collaboration and a numbered production run. Its proposition is not simply a larger engine. It is a high-output, fully faired motorcycle with premium components and a scarcity story that may matter as much as riding performance to a collector.

Streetfighter V2 MY25: an 890 cc naked alternative
Ducati describes the 2025 Streetfighter V2 as part of its new 890 cc V2 generation. Removing the full superbike fairing creates a different proposition: a naked chassis, a lower published seat and lower published mass than the Lamborghini edition. Those are specification differences, not a promise of beginner-friendly behavior or superior real-world handling.
The Streetfighter is the relevant choice when the buyer specifically wants the upright, exposed format of a naked motorcycle. If the buyer’s priority is a V4 engine, the numbered collaboration or the Panigale’s listed hardware, the two motorcycles are not interchangeable alternatives.
Engine performance: the biggest objective gap
Ducati’s figures show a large separation in peak output. The Panigale’s V4 is rated at more than 200 horsepower in the regions where Ducati publishes the lower North American figure, while the Streetfighter’s V2 is rated at 120 horsepower. The V4 also carries the higher published torque figure. This establishes a substantial paper advantage for the Panigale in engine output, but it does not establish acceleration times, top speed, lap times or which bike feels better on a public road.

| Engine question | What the published specifications establish | What they do not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Configuration | Desmosedici Stradale 90-degree V4 versus Ducati 90-degree V2 | Which engine is smoother or more enjoyable for a particular rider |
| Peak power | The Panigale has the much higher stated peak figure | Real-world acceleration, roll-on response or lap-time advantage |
| Peak torque | The Panigale has the higher stated peak figure and reaches it at a higher engine speed | Low-speed tractability, fuel economy or ease in traffic |
| Variable valve timing | The Streetfighter specification identifies intake variable valve timing | How that feature changes feel without a controlled test |
Engine architecture also changes the ownership decision. A buyer choosing the Panigale is buying into a superbike-level output envelope and the responsibilities that come with using it responsibly. A buyer choosing the Streetfighter is not buying a de-tuned version of the Lamborghini edition; it is a separate V2 model with its own chassis, electronics and intended use.

Weight, seat height and rider fit
Ducati lists the Streetfighter as lighter and lower than the Panigale. That may be important when you are comparing parking-lot maneuvering, foot placement or the physical reach to the ground, but the numbers alone cannot predict confidence. Inseam, boot thickness, riding experience, suspension setup and the slope of the road all affect whether a rider can manage either motorcycle.
- Check the seat in person. Sit in normal riding gear and verify that you can support the motorcycle at a stop without relying on a single published dimension.
- Consider the riding position. A naked motorcycle and a faired superbike distribute weight, wind exposure and body support differently. Ducati’s specification pages do not quantify comfort for commuting, touring or long highway days.
- Account for the fuel state. The listed Panigale weight is wet weight without fuel, so a showroom comparison should not treat it as a fully fueled, independently measured mass.
- Do not infer skill level. Neither the lower seat nor the lower output makes the Streetfighter automatically suitable for a novice, and the Panigale’s output does not by itself describe how controllable it will feel.
Chassis, suspension and brake equipment
Panigale V4 Lamborghini equipment
Ducati lists an aluminum Front Frame, an Öhlins NPX 25/30 pressurized fork and an Öhlins TTX36 rear unit with Öhlins Smart EC 3.0 electronic damping. The motorcycle also has forged aluminum wheels and Brembo Monobloc Hypure front calipers with Race eCBS. Ducati lists Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP-V4 tires at both ends.
Those are premium, track-oriented components on the manufacturer’s equipment list. They indicate a higher specification on paper, but the parts list is not an independent test of braking distance, suspension compliance or cornering speed. Tire compound, setup, temperature, rider technique and surface all change results.
Streetfighter V2 equipment and frame
The MY25 Streetfighter specification identifies a monocoque aluminum frame. Ducati’s public description centers on the new 890 cc V2 platform and the naked-bike format. The cited material does not provide a complete, directly comparable list of every fork, shock, brake, wheel and tire specification against the Lamborghini edition.

For a purchase decision, request the exact equipment sheet for your market. A component that appears in a press description or as an option may not be fitted to every regional version. Do not assume that the Streetfighter includes the Panigale’s electronic suspension or the same brake package.
Displays and electronic features
The Panigale specification lists a 6.9-inch TFT. The Streetfighter uses a 5-inch TFT with Road, Road Pro and Track information modes. Ducati references Lap Timer Pro as an installed option for the Streetfighter. “Option” matters: verify whether it is activated and included in the motorcycle you are being offered, rather than assuming every market version has identical software.
A larger screen or additional mode name does not prove that one motorcycle has better rider aids. Ask the dealer for the regional list of traction-control, wheelie-control, engine-brake, riding-mode and data functions, then confirm which are standard, optional or unavailable. The available evidence does not support a feature-by-feature electronics winner.

Ducati announced the Panigale V4 Lamborghini as a numbered limited edition of 630 examples. The announcement said, “Deliveries of the Ducati Panigale V4 Lamborghini will commence in September 2025.” That sentence records the planned start of deliveries in the announcement; it is not proof that a motorcycle is currently in stock in your country.

Ducati also described matching limited-edition riding gear, including a helmet, jacket and leather suit, and said Speciale Clienti purchasers could access a custom-color suit option. Availability, pricing and eligibility for those items must be confirmed with Ducati or an authorized dealer in the relevant market.
Numbering changes the buying question. A buyer who wants a collectible collaboration may accept a higher price, greater insurance exposure or the difficulty of finding replacement parts and matching accessories. A buyer focused on regular road riding may place more value on dealer support, consumable costs and a comfortable fit than on production number. The sources do not establish resale performance, investment returns or long-term collectability.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which is better for road riding?
There is no evidence-based road winner in the available manufacturer material. Start with the kind of road use you actually do.
Choose the Streetfighter direction when the format is the priority
- You specifically want a naked motorcycle rather than a faired superbike.
- The lower published seat and lower published mass may fit your measurements or parking routine better, subject to an in-person check.
- You prefer the MY25 890 cc V2 platform and its stated Road, Road Pro and Track display modes.
- You are prepared to verify the local equipment list, options and service support before signing a deal.
Choose the Panigale direction when the special-edition proposition is the priority
- You want the numbered Lamborghini collaboration and a V4 engine.
- The listed Öhlins electronic suspension, forged wheels, Brembo Hypure brakes and Supercorsa SP-V4 tires are central to your decision.
- You accept that the motorcycle is a superbike special edition rather than a practical substitute for a naked bike.
- You have confirmed allocation, registration requirements, insurance and after-sales support in your market.
Neither list should be read as a claim that one is more comfortable, safer or easier to ride. Those judgments require a suitable test ride or professional fitting assessment under your conditions.

Which is better for track use?
The Panigale’s published output and equipment list make it the more explicitly extreme track proposition on paper. The fairing, V4 and listed electronic Öhlins suspension are aligned with a superbike brief. However, no cited source supplies comparative lap times, braking tests, tire-life data or a controlled evaluation against the Streetfighter.
The Streetfighter can still be considered by a rider who values the naked format or wants to develop a track setup around the 890 cc V2. Before buying, confirm tire sizes, suspension adjustability, brake specification, available race parts and the warranty consequences of circuit use. Those details are market- and configuration-dependent and are not fully established in the cited specifications.
Price, stock and running-cost questions
The available Ducati specifications and announcement do not establish a current like-for-like price, a guaranteed inventory position or a verified ownership-cost comparison. Do not use an old launch article, a different Panigale variant or a dealer’s imported-bike listing as if it were a current local price for these exact motorcycles.
Request a written quote that separates the motorcycle price from destination charges, registration, taxes, documentation, freight, setup, optional software, accessories and finance costs. For the numbered edition, ask whether the quoted bike is one of the 630 examples and how its number is documented.
Running costs also need a local estimate. Ask about insurance classification, scheduled service intervals, tire replacement, brake consumables, storage, roadside assistance and the availability of model-specific bodywork. The evidence does not provide reliable figures for any of those categories, so a precise ownership-cost ranking would be speculation.
A practical buying process
- Define the use. Write down your split between public-road riding, commuting, touring, occasional track days and collecting. If you cannot state the main use, postpone the model decision.
- Set a complete budget. Include tax, registration, insurance, protective equipment, first service, tires, fuel, storage and any required options—not only the advertised motorcycle price.
- Confirm your market specification. Obtain the exact VIN-linked equipment list or official regional sheet. Check power figures, emissions equipment, software options, brakes, suspension, wheels and tires.
- Check physical fit. Sit on both motorcycles in riding gear, move them with the engine off and test the reach to the controls. A published seat-height difference is a screening tool, not a fit guarantee.
- Verify allocation and delivery. For the Panigale, confirm whether a numbered example is actually allocated, the expected registration date and the terms for deposits or cancellation.
- Arrange a legal test ride or professional assessment. Use the same route and conditions where possible. If a test ride is unavailable, treat every comfort or handling conclusion as unresolved.
- Compare after-sales support. Ask the dealer who will service the motorcycle, how warranty claims are handled, how long crash parts take to arrive and whether software updates require a dealer visit.
- Read the contract. Check the delivered specification, included accessories, promised equipment, warranty exclusions and any restrictions on track use before paying the balance.
Common comparison mistakes
- Mixing regional power figures: the Panigale has different published output figures for the global page and for the USA, Canada and Mexico.
- Mixing model years: MY25 Streetfighter V2 data is not automatically valid for earlier generations.
- Calling specifications test results: Ducati’s horsepower, torque, mass and dimensions are manufacturer figures, not an independent comparison.
- Assuming optional equipment is standard: Lap Timer Pro is referenced as an installed option, and regional equipment can differ.
- Using launch timing as current stock: the September 2025 delivery statement was a planned announcement milestone, not a live inventory report for October 2026.
- Declaring a comfort or beginner winner from seat height: rider proportions, setup and experience matter more than one dimension.
- Assuming the most expensive motorcycle is objectively better: the motorcycles serve different formats and priorities.
Bottom line for this Ducati comparison
The Panigale V4 Lamborghini is the stronger paper choice for a buyer who wants the numbered Lamborghini collaboration, V4 character, substantially higher published output and the listed Öhlins, Brembo, forged-wheel and Supercorsa equipment. The Streetfighter V2 is the more logical direction for someone who specifically wants a naked 890 cc V2 and values its lower published mass and seat height.
That is a fit-and-purpose distinction, not a universal ranking. Current price, inventory, regional equipment, running costs and real-world performance remain matters to verify with a local Ducati dealer and, ideally, a controlled test ride. Decide which proposition you actually want before comparing numbers; otherwise the higher-output Panigale will win a specification contest that may not match your riding.
