Pakistan’s government announced lower petroleum prices for the fortnight beginning March 1, 2025. Petrol fell by Rs0.50 per litre to Rs255.63, while high-speed diesel (HSD) fell by Rs5.31 to Rs258.64. The rates below are historical, not today’s prices.
Pakistan petroleum prices from March 1, 2025
The Press Information Department’s February 28, 2025 release said the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had reviewed and adjusted consumer prices “in view of recent fluctuations in the international oil market.” The revised rates took effect on March 1 and were stated to apply for the next fortnight. What the reductions meant for drivers and transport
Petrol: a 50-paisa reduction
Motor spirit, commonly called petrol, was set at Rs255.63 per litre, down Rs0.50 from Rs256.13. It was the smallest reduction among the four listed fuels.
Diesel: the largest cut
HSD fell by Rs5.31 per litre to Rs258.64, the largest reduction in the announcement. Dawn reported that HSD is used across much of the transport sector, including heavy transport vehicles, buses, tractors, tube wells and threshers. That context does not establish that fares or the prices of transported goods fell. Dawn’s contemporaneous report.

Kerosene and light diesel oil
Superior kerosene oil was reduced by Rs3.53 per litre to Rs168.12. LDO fell by Rs2.47 to Rs153.34 per litre.

The figures describe the government-notified consumer rates for the fortnight starting March 1, 2025. They should not be used as a current price quote. The official release lists LDO at Rs153.34 per litre; Dawn’s report gives Rs153.35, a one-paisa discrepancy. The government release is the source for the table above.
