What were petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan from July 16, 2025?
The Associated Press of Pakistan reported the previous and revised rates as follows:

Which fuel had the larger increase?
HSD had the larger per-litre increase: Rs11.37, compared with Rs5.36 for petrol. The revised HSD rate was Rs284.35 per litre, versus Rs272.15 for petrol.

Why were prices revised?
The Associated Press of Pakistan report said the revision followed recommendations from OGRA and relevant ministries and was attributed to a Ministry of Finance press release. It did not provide a component-by-component price calculation or identify a specific cause such as crude prices, exchange rates, taxes or levies.
Are these Pakistan’s current fuel prices?
No. The figures above describe a historical fortnight beginning July 16, 2025. OGRA’s price index lists later effective notices, including one dated October 3, 2026. To find a current rate, check the latest notice and its effective date on OGRA’s price-notifications index.

How does the later daily-pricing policy relate to this announcement?
It does not explain the July 2025 revision. In a statement dated July 18, 2026, the Petroleum Division said a mechanism was transitioning from weekly to daily pricing and that a meeting sought stakeholder feedback on implementation.
