OVRLND’s Chubby option adds 7 inches of width to its pickup camper, making east-west (side-to-side) sleeping possible on many truck builds. The manufacturer lists approximate east-west bedding widths of 68 inches for midsize campers and 75 inches for full-size campers; fit and dimensions depend on the truck and build.
What does the Chubby option change?
OVRLND describes Chubby as a wider camper configuration using a wider base extrusion. The extra 7 inches creates more interior room and can allow a sleeping platform to run across the truck rather than lengthwise. OVRLND says this works on many truck configurations, not every truck.
The width figures need context: the Chubby explainer gives approximate bedding widths, while the Bivy page lists model-specific interior-width ranges. These are different measurements and should not be treated as interchangeable.

These are manufacturer-published figures, not a promise that a particular truck will have that exact usable width. Confirm the measurement and sleeping orientation for your specific camper.

How much does Chubby cost?
As listed on OVRLND’s All You Can Eat product page when accessed in 2026, “Make it CHUBBY” is a $1,150 add-on. The same page lists base prices of $8,700 for midsize trucks, $9,700 for full-size trucks, and $10,000 for 8-foot builds. Those figures are changeable product-page prices; the Chubby price is not the price of a complete camper. Confirm the current quote and selected configuration with OVRLND.
What are the tradeoffs?
OVRLND says the wider configuration adds 30–50 pounds. Its explainer also identifies potential driving and access tradeoffs. These are manufacturer descriptions; the available material does not establish independent handling-test results.

- Wind and handling: OVRLND notes more wind buffeting, described as “whomping,” and somewhat more steering effort or body roll.
- Tight trails: The added width increases the chance of contacting trees or other obstacles where clearance is limited.
- Rear-door clearance: OVRLND says barn doors open to 180 degrees with Chubby, rather than 270 degrees, while still latching securely.
Whether the added sleeping room is worth those compromises depends on how you use the truck: regular highway driving, narrow trails, and the need for full rear-door swing may weigh differently for different owners.
Will a Chubby camper fit your truck?
OVRLND says it builds each camper for an individual truck, but its product information does not provide a complete vehicle-by-vehicle compatibility chart or guarantee east-west sleeping for every configuration. Ask OVRLND to confirm the fit and usable width for your exact truck before ordering.

When requesting a confirmation, provide:
- Truck year, make, and model
- Bed length
- The camper model and options you want
- Your preferred sleeping orientation
What sleeping platform comes with the camper?
The All You Can Eat page lists two honeycomb composite bed panels as standard: one fixed over the cabover and one that slides back to create the full sleeping space. OVRLND says the panels are load-tested for 500 pounds. That is a manufacturer-stated panel test, not a stated occupant-capacity guarantee.
Do not confuse those included cabover-camper panels with the optional sleeping platforms described for OVRLND’s Bivy model. The Bivy page says platform orientation depends on the truck; its options are not evidence that every cabover build includes the same platform setup.

Should you choose Chubby?
Chubby is most relevant if side-to-side sleeping and the extra interior room matter more to you than the added width, weight, and possible driving or trail-clearance compromises. Before deciding, compare these points with OVRLND’s dimensions for your build:
