Guinness World Records lists the verified result as 438.73 km/h (273 mi/h), faster than the Rimac Nevera’s listed 412 km/h (256 mph). The distinction matters: Guinness classifies the SP600 as a battery-powered electric prototype hypercar, so this is not a like-for-like production-car record.
What speed did the OWL SP600 reach?
Aspark announced that the SP600 reached 438.7 km/h on its second attempt at Automotive Testing Papenburg (ATP) on 8 June 2024. Aspark’s announcement describes a development program involving virtual and physical testing, wind-tunnel validation and track sessions.
Guinness World Records records the result as 438.73 km/h (273 mi/h) and says it verified the achievement on 31 October 2024. The run date and verification date are different: the speed was achieved in June and verified in October.
How does it compare with the Rimac Nevera?

Guinness’s Nevera report gives its top speed as 412 km/h. The SP600’s listed figure is 26.73 km/h higher. That is a comparison of the published peak-speed figures—not a production-car-versus-production-car record comparison, because the SP600 is explicitly a prototype.

What record does the SP600 hold?
Guinness’s category is “fastest speed achieved by a battery-powered electric prototype hypercar.” That wording is narrower than “fastest electric car”: Guinness maintains other electric-car records that use different definitions and methods.
- Its general electric-car record concerns a two-way flying-mile average, rather than one peak-speed run.
- Its FIA-approved electric-car entry concerns an FIA-ratified land-speed record.
- The SP600 entry concerns the peak speed achieved by an electric prototype hypercar.
Those records are not interchangeable. A headline that simply calls the SP600 the world’s fastest electric car would leave out the category and measurement distinction. Guinness’s electric-car records page shows the separate categories.

Aspark’s SP600 technical page lists four independent electric motors, one at each wheel, and Bridgestone Potenza RACE tyres. Aspark says Bridgestone developed bespoke tyres for the car. These details describe the prototype; they do not establish that the tyres are a standard road fitment or generally available consumer replacements.

Aspark also says the prototype does not have a ride-height adjustment function and cautions that specifications may differ in a production vehicle. The SP600’s record-setting configuration should therefore not be treated as a complete specification for a retail car.
