On the Opel Mokka X, it was designed to slide out from the rear bumper for use and retract into the vehicle when not needed. The feature is documented for the Mokka X; do not assume every Mokka generation or trim has it.
What is the bike rack built into the Opel Mokka bumper called?
It is the Opel FlexFix rear carrier, also written as the Flex-Fix system in the owner’s manual. Opel describes the carrier as integrated into the bumper and pulled out like a drawer; the MY13 Mokka manual describes it as integrated into the vehicle floor. In either description, it stays with the vehicle and retracts when not in use. Opel’s 2017 FlexFix announcement presents the system as a way to avoid lifting bicycles onto the roof, and says no special fittings or tools are needed. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent comparative test results.
Does every Opel Mokka have FlexFix?
No such conclusion is supported by the available model information. Opel’s 2017 announcement lists the Mokka X among the models for which FlexFix was available. The MY26 Mokka datasheet does not identify the system in its returned specifications, but that omission alone does not establish that it was unavailable in every market or trim. Opel’s MY26 Mokka datasheet is useful for current-generation context, not proof of fitment on a particular car.
Check the vehicle’s original equipment and the carrier itself before buying an extension or replacement part. Confirm the generation, model year, market, trim, and whether the vehicle left the factory with FlexFix. A listing that mentions “Mokka” alone is not enough to establish compatibility.

How many bikes can Mokka FlexFix carry?
The MY13 Opel Mokka owner’s manual describes one bicycle mounted on the pull-out carrier, with an adapter that can carry two further bicycles. It says the carrier is for bicycles, not other objects. Its published limits are:

These are limits stated in the MY13 Mokka manual, not a universal rating for every FlexFix version. Check the manual for the vehicle and the exact carrier configuration, and account for the combined weight of the bicycles and any applicable carrier components. The adapter is not permission to exceed the stated total load or the per-bike limit.

What should you check before using the carrier?
- Retract the carrier when it is not in use, as the manual directs.
- Keep people clear of the carrier’s extension zone while operating it.
- Allow for reduced ground clearance when the carrier is extended and the vehicle is fully loaded; take care on steep inclines, ramps, and bumps.
- Ask a bicycle dealer before carrying a bicycle with a carbon frame.
- Secure loose items on the bicycles so they cannot come off during transport.
- Use the vehicle-specific manual to confirm loading, fastening, and capacity instructions for your setup.
How to find a FlexFix extension or replacement part
Search for “Opel Mokka X FlexFix bike carrier” or “Mokka FlexFix extension,” then verify the part against the specific vehicle before ordering. Opel Accessories France lists a FlexFix extension for the Mokka; that listing is a useful starting point, not a guarantee of compatibility with every Mokka or carrier version. Ask an Opel dealer or a specialist supplier to confirm fitment using the car’s details and the exact part number.
The original German launch-era announcement gave a starting recommended retail price of €590 for FlexFix on the Mokka X range in 2017. That is a historic price, not a current offer or estimate for a used-car retrofit.

Is FlexFix the right carrier for your bikes?
FlexFix’s integrated, retractable design avoids storing a separate carrier and offers a lower loading position than a roof rack, according to Opel. Whether it suits a particular trip depends on the vehicle’s factory equipment, the bikes’ weights and wheelbases, and the applicable manual limits. Compare those details with any tow-bar or roof-mounted option before deciding; the cited Opel material does not provide neutral comparative pricing or performance data for those alternatives.
