The Onewheel Pint S is a factory-upgraded version of Future Motion’s Pint X, with a treaded tire, larger flared footpads and a Maghandle Pro included. Future Motion lists a top speed of 20 mph, a claimed range of 12–18 miles and a starting price of $1,400 on its current product page. Those are manufacturer figures, not independently verified results, and real-world range varies with riding conditions.
What is the Onewheel Pint S?
The Pint S is a compact, single-wheel electric board: the rider stands on two footpads on either side of the central wheel, and the board balances itself as it moves. Future Motion describes it as a factory-upgraded Pint X. The original announcement was covered by New Atlas in September 2024; for current specifications and price, the manufacturer’s Pint S product page is the more relevant reference.
Its upgrades are practical rather than a change to the basic format: a Performance Treaded Tire, Flared Footpads and Maghandle Pro come as part of the package. Future Motion says the flared pads provide a 15% larger footprint than standard Pint footpads.
How fast and how far can the Pint S ride?
Future Motion currently lists a 20 mph top speed and 12–18 miles of range. These are manufacturer specifications, not guarantees for every rider or conditions. Range can vary with rider weight, tire pressure, terrain and grade, and battery level; the company also identifies those factors as relevant to when its riding alerts may occur. Treat the range as an estimate for planning, not a promise of a fixed distance.

How does the Pint S compare with the Pint X?
Speed and claimed range do not separate the two models in Future Motion’s buyer guide: both are listed at 20 mph and 12–18 miles. The distinction is mainly the Pint S’s factory-included hardware. The guide lists both boards at 27 lb and 225 minutes for a standard charge.

Comparison specifications are from Future Motion’s buyer guide. A treaded tire and included handle and pads may matter more to a buyer than headline speed or range, which the guide lists identically. The guide does not establish that the treaded tire guarantees better performance on any particular surface.
What should you consider before choosing one?
- Portability: At a listed 27 lb, the Pint S is something a rider will need to lift when carrying it. The Maghandle Pro is included, but the weight remains worth considering for stairs, transit or longer carries.
- Tire and route: The S has a treaded tire while the Pint X has a slick. Consider the surfaces you expect to ride, but do not treat tire type alone as a guarantee of traction or suitability.
- Charging: Future Motion lists 225 minutes with the standard charger. Factor that time into your use rather than assuming a quick top-up.
- Price and included parts: Compare the current S price and its stock hardware with the Pint X you can actually buy. The manufacturer’s listed $1,400 starting price is subject to change.
- Range margin: Plan routes with room for conditions to reduce the distance available; do not count on reaching the top of the claimed range.
Safety alerts are warnings, not fall prevention
Future Motion says Haptic Buzz provides audible and tactile alerts in situations that can lead to a crash, working alongside pushback. The company says it introduced the feature through firmware updates to Pint, Pint X, XR and GT toward the end of 2023. An alert is a reason to ease off and ride within the board’s limits, not a guarantee that a fall will be prevented. Future Motion identifies rider weight, tire pressure, terrain and grade, and battery percentage as factors affecting when alerts may occur. Its explanation is available in the Haptic Buzz and pushback support article.

Future Motion recommends an ASTM F1492-08, CPSC and/or CE EN1078 certified helmet for Pint riders; it also recommends wrist guards, elbow pads and knee pads. Wear shoes that stay on and grip the board, rather than riding barefoot or in flip-flops. Protective equipment reduces exposure to some risks but cannot make riding risk-free. See the company’s Pint safety guidance.
Future Motion says it issued a voluntary recall in September 2023 so certain boards could receive a firmware update adding Haptic Buzz. That history does not establish the status of every board or unit. Owners concerned about an older board should follow the manufacturer’s recall explanation and model-specific instructions, rather than assuming the same guidance applies to all versions.

Tire pressure and routine care
Future Motion advises inspecting the tire tread and sidewall and checking inflation with a quality digital gauge. It lists up to 20 PSI for the Pint and warns that pressure affects range, speed, tire wear and ride quality. Because pressure guidance can be model-specific, confirm the correct limit for the Pint S in the manufacturer’s Pint tire-pressure guidance before inflating; do not assume the Pint figure applies to every model.
