Some electric vehicles offer a 360-degree camera system that combines exterior camera feeds into an overhead view to help with parking and other low-speed maneuvers. It is a visibility aid, not a substitute for mirrors, direct visual checks, or driver attention—and availability depends on the exact model year, trim, and equipment.
How an EV 360-degree camera works
Exterior cameras show separate views around the vehicle. The display can combine those images into a simulated overhead, or “bird’s-eye,” view. Ford describes front, side, and rear cameras in the 2026 Mustang Mach-E system, while Hyundai describes the 2025 Kona Electric’s Surround View Monitor (SVM) as combining camera feeds into a 360-degree view.
The result is an image, not a complete sensor map. Do not assume that a displayed view detects every nearby object or that it works like radar or ultrasonic sensors. Systems can differ in the views they offer and how drivers access them.
U.S. EV examples and confirmed availability
| Vehicle and model year | What the source establishes | Availability qualification |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric | Hyundai says SVM combines camera feeds for a 360-degree bird’s-eye view. | Standard on Limited; the cited page does not establish availability on other trims. Hyundai’s 2025 Kona Electric page |
| 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E | The owner’s manual describes front, side, and rear cameras and a top-down view. | The cited manual is not a trim-by-trim availability list. Confirm equipment on the specific vehicle. 2026 Mustang Mach-E owner’s manual |
| 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning | The owner’s manual describes the 360-degree camera feature. | The manual labels it “If Equipped,” so it should not be assumed standard on every truck. 2025 F-150 Lightning owner’s manual |

- Note: This Dash Cam is Wired and Does Not Have A Built-In Battery. This dash camera must be connected to vehicle power source when in use, you can use the car charger included in the box, or you can buy the hardwire kit to connect to car fuse to use (ASIN: B0DHJNRPB9, for 24/7 parking mode). Please confirm this requirement before purchase to avoid misunderstanding.
- 48-Hour Parking Surveillance (Hardwire Required) – Two smart modes guard your vehicle with the ignition off. 1,Time-Lapse at 1/3/5 fps records continuously for up to ~48 hours while conserving storage. 2,Impact Detection auto-captures and locks a 10-second clip on bumps or tampering. Parking Mode requires the IIWEY hardwire kit (ASIN B0DHJNRPB9; sold separately, not included). If no need Parking Mode, the included car charger is sufficient for daily driving use.
- Wi-Fi 6 (5.8 Ghz) Speed + Built-In GPS – Up to ~20 MB/s for fast in-app preview/download and quick sharing (also supports 2.4 GHz). GPS logs speed and route for playback on map in the iOS/Android app or PC viewer. Tip: long-press “◀” to enable Wi-Fi; auto-off after ~5 min helps reduce heat and power draw. N6 dash cam and hardwire kit fit for turck, car, suv and etc.
- Loop Recording + 128 Gb Card Included – Ready to use out of the box. Seamless loop saves in manageable segments and overwrites the oldest files when full, so recording never stops. G-Sensor Emergency Lock protects critical clips from overwrite during sudden braking or collisions.
What the camera can—and cannot—help you see
A surround-view display may help you judge the space immediately around the vehicle when parking or maneuvering. Hyundai warns that its Kona Electric SVM “cannot completely eliminate blind spots, may not detect every object and does not warn of moving objects.” That warning is a useful reminder not to treat the image as a guarantee of clearance.
Image-composite systems can also have limitations at the boundaries between camera views. Mazda’s 2025 CX-5 manual, which is general guidance and not EV-specific evidence, cautions that seams or black areas may be blind zones and that displayed distances may differ from actual distances. It recommends using mirrors and direct visual checks. Lighting, camera position, display conditions, and vehicle conditions can affect what appears on screen.

No crash-reduction figure or safety-outcome study attributable to EV surround-view systems is established by the cited sources. The defensible claim is narrower: the system can provide additional visual information during maneuvers, with limitations that require the driver to remain attentive.
How to compare equipped EVs
- Verify exact equipment: Check model year, trim, options or package, and the specific VIN or build sheet rather than relying on a model name alone.
- Compare views: Confirm whether the system offers an overhead composite, front and rear views, side views, or wide-angle views. Do not assume the feature name means identical coverage.
- Read the warnings: Look for stated blind spots, image seams, distance-display cautions, and whether moving-object alerts are included.
- Check the workflow: The owner’s manual explains when the view appears and how to select available camera views. Controls and activation can vary by model and year.
- Ask about service after damage: Find out how camera replacement or recalibration is handled after a collision, windshield or body work, or other repairs.
The cited sources do not establish a comparative image-quality test or a market-wide performance ranking, so features and documented limitations are more useful comparison points than unsupported claims that one system is “best.”

NHTSA’s April 11, 2025 acknowledgment for Campaign 25V-225 covers certain 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron and SQ6 e-tron vehicles whose rearview camera may show a blurry image. The stated remedy is replacement of the rearview camera, with surround-view cameras inspected and replaced as necessary; the notice says repairs are free. This is a specific recall, not evidence of a general EV camera defect rate. NHTSA recall acknowledgment 25V-225
