On the Road with the Lucid Gravity: Range, Charging and What It’s Like to Drive

The Lucid Gravity combines quick acceleration, a roomy cabin and fast-charging capability. Here’s how its range estimates compare with Car and Driver’s highway tests.

The Lucid Gravity pairs a spacious, family-ready cabin with quick acceleration and unusually fast-charging hardware. But its headline range is an EPA estimate for a specific two-row configuration: in Car and Driver’s 75-mph tests, a three-row Grand Touring covered 310 miles and a Touring covered 260. Those results, along with the reviewers’ impressions below, are useful context—not guarantees for every Gravity or trip.

What is the Lucid Gravity like to drive?

Car and Driver’s November 2025 Grand Touring road test describes a composed highway cruiser with a comfortable ride and naturally tracking steering. The publication measured 66 dBA at 70 mph in its test car. Those are observations from that specific test, not measurements that apply to every trim, tire or road.

The Gravity’s air suspension can raise ground clearance to 9.3 inches or lower it to 5.2 inches, according to the same review. That adjustment gives the SUV flexibility in how it sits, though the figures alone do not establish off-road capability.

Acceleration is brisk in either tested trim. Car and Driver recorded 3.1 seconds from 0 to 60 mph in its Grand Touring and 3.8 seconds in its Touring. These are publication test results for those cars, not manufacturer estimates.

Controls are worth trying in person

The reviewers found the cabin roomy but noted limited physical switchgear and a strongly screen- and touch-oriented interface. The Touring test also called out a software/audio display foible and an unusual steering-wheel shape. These are reviewer impressions rather than defects established for every vehicle; a test drive is the best way to judge whether the controls suit you.

How far does a Lucid Gravity go on the highway?

Lucid’s product page lists up to 450 miles of EPA-estimated range for a two-row, five-seat Grand Touring with 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. The comparable Touring configuration is listed at up to 337 miles. These are manufacturer-published EPA estimates tied to the stated seating and wheel setup; Lucid cautions that temperature, driving habits, charging and battery condition affect actual range. See Lucid’s current Gravity specifications for any later updates.

Highway driving at a steady 75 mph produced lower figures in Car and Driver’s 2025 tests. Its three-row Grand Touring, fitted with 22/23-inch wheels, covered 310 miles; the Touring covered 260 miles. These are test results for specific vehicles and conditions, not universal predictions. Seat layout, wheels, speed, weather and other conditions can all affect a trip’s range.

Lucid’s product page gives the GT-S a projected range of 373 miles, while stating that an official EPA estimate was not yet available on the page accessed October 4, 2026. Treat that as a manufacturer projection, not an EPA-certified figure.

How fast does the Lucid Gravity charge?

Lucid says the Gravity can charge at up to 400 kW on 1000-volt equipment and sustain rates up to 225 kW on 500-volt fast chargers. The company attributes compatibility with 500-volt equipment to a proprietary rear drive unit that boosts voltage for the vehicle’s 926-volt battery architecture. These are manufacturer claims about charging capability, not rates every station or charging session will deliver. For the company’s dated explanation, see its January 28, 2025 charging and network announcement.

Car and Driver’s charging observations provide a separate, real-session reference. On a 350-kW charger, its Grand Touring test added 150 miles in 20 minutes. In the Touring test, the same publication recorded 18 minutes to add 150 miles and 35 minutes to charge from 10 to 90 percent. These timings depend on the charger, battery state, temperature and vehicle configuration; they are not standardized guarantees.

Ports, adapters and network access

Lucid said in January 2025 that the Gravity has a NACS port and includes CCS1-to-NACS and SAE J1772-to-NACS adapters. The same release said wide Supercharger access in the United States and Canada would begin January 31, 2025. Network access and station availability can change, so check Lucid and the charging network for current access and station details before relying on a route.

Can the Lucid Gravity seat seven, and how much cargo space is there?

Lucid offers five- and seven-seat layouts, as described in Car and Driver’s Grand Touring review. In the seven-seat layout, sections of the second-row bench move to provide access to the third row. The reviewed Touring was a two-row, five-seat model, so its cargo figures should not be treated as measurements for every seating layout.

Car and Driver reported 56 cubic feet behind the Touring’s second row and 112 cubic feet with that row moved forward. In its Grand Touring discussion, the publication reported up to 98 cubic feet behind folded seats, plus six cubic feet below the rear floor. The review also lists an eight-cubic-foot front trunk, or frunk. Because these figures come from different trim and seat arrangements, compare the exact layout you plan to buy rather than treating them as one vehicle’s combined capacity.

The Grand Touring review notes that an accessory seat cushion and backrest can turn the frunk into a place to sit while tailgating. Confirm fitment and current availability with Lucid before purchasing an accessory.

What did the tested Gravity trims cost?

Car and Driver reported U.S. prices of $81,550 for a 2026 Touring and a $96,550 starting price for Grand Touring in November 2025. Those are dated publication figures, not a current quote. Check Lucid’s configurator for today’s prices, options, availability and delivery estimates before making a purchase decision.
