The higher trims cost more, so the entry price is not representative of every Equinox EV. These details are from Chevrolet’s page labeled 2027 Equinox EV; the company’s current pages are inconsistent about model-year labeling, so confirm the year and local price with a dealer.
Is the Equinox EV big enough for a family?
Chevrolet classifies the Equinox EV as a compact SUV. It seats five and has up to 57.2 cubic feet of cargo volume, according to the manufacturer. Those figures make it a plausible fit for everyday family trips and errands, but cargo capacity alone does not establish how easily a particular stroller, luggage set or other bulky item will fit. Check the vehicle in person with the items you regularly carry if space is a close call.
The capacity figure is a maximum, not a measure of the space available with every seat and configuration in use. Chevrolet’s cited specifications do not provide a comparable cargo figure for another vehicle, so they cannot establish whether the Equinox EV is roomier than a specific rival.

These are Chevrolet’s displayed starting prices, not guaranteed out-the-door prices. Dealer pricing, destination charges, taxes, incentives and available inventory can change what a local buyer pays. Chevrolet’s pages also differ on whether the vehicle is labeled 2026 or 2027; the figures here come from the detailed page labeled 2027. Verify the model year and current local MSRP against the specific vehicle being offered.
The value choice is mainly between the LT 1’s lower entry price and the comfort, visibility, charging and styling additions listed for the more expensive trims. Chevrolet’s specifications do not establish whether those upgrades justify their price for an individual buyer.

How far can it go on a charge?
Chevrolet lists EPA-estimated range of 319 miles for front-wheel-drive models and 307 miles for available all-wheel-drive models on its 2027 Equinox EV page. The 319-mile figure applies to FWD; it should not be treated as the AWD estimate. EPA estimates are not a guarantee of the distance a driver will achieve, and the cited manufacturer information does not provide an independent real-world range test.
The 12-mile difference between the listed estimates is useful when comparing the drivetrains, but range is only one part of the decision. Consider whether you want available AWD and how charging fits your routine; the figures provided do not quantify a broader ownership-cost difference between FWD and AWD.

What should you know about charging?
Home charging
Chevrolet describes an available portable Dual Level Charger that supports 120-volt Level 1 and 240-volt Level 2 charging. Level 2 requires access to a 240-volt outlet; Chevrolet identifies Qmerit as a service for outlet installation and required permits. The manufacturer’s information does not specify installation cost, so get a quote based on your home’s electrical setup before budgeting.
Chevrolet recommends charging the Equinox EV battery to 80% capacity to support battery health and regenerative-braking performance. That is the manufacturer’s recommendation; follow the vehicle’s current owner information for instructions specific to your model year.

Public charging
Chevrolet says the vehicle can add up to 80 miles of range in 10 minutes at public DC fast charging. “Up to” is important: that is a manufacturer claim, not a guaranteed result for every session, and it does not describe home Level 1 or Level 2 charging.
Chevrolet says the 2027 Equinox EV has a standard NACS charging port and access to more than 250,000 public chargers across North America. The company says access to Tesla Supercharger locations requires the myChevrolet app and a GM-approved NACS DC adapter. Network counts and access arrangements can change, so check current compatibility and access details for the specific model year and charger before relying on a route plan.

Are the driver-assistance features self-driving?
No. Chevrolet lists over 20 standard safety and driver-assistance features, including Adaptive Cruise Control on the LT 1, and offers Super Cruise. These are assistance features, not a substitute for an attentive driver. Chevrolet says drivers must remain attentive and that conditions can affect performance; follow the vehicle’s instructions and keep responsibility for driving at all times.
