That is the company’s claim, not a verified real-world result from a consumer car. The battery was announced at the 2024 Paris Motor Show; the reported charging figures and the range estimate are related but distinct.
What battery is behind the 186-mile claim?
The claim refers to a 100% silicon composite anode battery that ProLogium announced on October 14, 2024. The company described it as a next-generation EV battery and reported energy densities of 749 Wh/L and 321 Wh/kg. Those are figures from ProLogium’s announcement, not a product-level comparison with other batteries.
ProLogium’s Chief Scientist, Dr. Dmitry Belov, said the technology had improved energy density and fast-charging performance. That statement represents the company’s view, not an independent comparative finding.
What did ProLogium report about charging?
ProLogium said TÜV Rheinland data showed the battery charging from 5% to 60% in five minutes, and from 5% to 80% in 8.5 minutes. The company separately estimated that a five-minute charge would provide approximately 300 km of range. New Atlas rendered that estimate as 186 miles in its October 16, 2024 headline.

The charge-window figures describe a reported test result; the range figure is an approximate claim. They should not be treated as proof that a production EV can routinely gain 186 miles in five minutes. The cited announcement does not establish the vehicle, battery-pack configuration, charging power, operating conditions, or a road test behind the range estimate.
Is 186 miles in five minutes verified in a road-going EV?
Not by the cited material. It documents ProLogium’s announcement and reported test data, but not an independent real-world range validation in a consumer vehicle. A cell’s charging performance does not by itself establish how much driving range a particular car gains: that depends on the vehicle and pack as well as the conditions and charging setup.
A fair comparison with another EV battery would need comparable measurements—cell versus pack energy density, the same starting and ending state of charge, test conditions and charging power, and claimed range versus measured vehicle range. The published information does not provide enough detail for that kind of product-level comparison.

Can consumers buy the battery or a compatible charger?
The cited sources do not establish that this battery is commercially available, that a production vehicle using it is on sale, or that a compatible retail charger is available. ProLogium later published an investor presentation dated May 27, 2026, but that presentation does not establish retail availability of this specific battery.
What the FEV partnership means
ProLogium announced a strategic partnership with Germany’s FEV Group to develop battery packs for automotive applications. FEV’s Global Vice President of Electric Powertrain, Dr. Thomas Hülshorst, described work on customized packs and concept designs. This is evidence of development work, not confirmation of a finished consumer vehicle or a battery pack that customers can buy.
