What is the MINI Countryman SE Midnight Edition?
Announced by BMW Group UK on 1 October 2026, the Midnight Edition is a fixed-specification version of the electric Countryman SE ALL4. It is based on Classic trim and is being offered for the UK market. The SE ALL4 configuration uses dual-motor all-wheel drive, according to Auto Express’s launch coverage.
Despite the playful “witching hour” headline, Midnight Edition is the official name. It is not a separate powertrain or a new Countryman generation.
How much does it cost, and when will it arrive?
BMW Group UK lists the price at £41,645 on the road (OTR). UK orders are open through MINI retailers, and the manufacturer expects the first customer deliveries in early 2027. Those price and timing details are from the 1 October 2026 announcement and may change.

MINI says the edition remains eligible for a £3,750 Electric Car Grant. That statement does not establish that every buyer or transaction qualifies, nor does it guarantee a net purchase price; check current grant rules and your eligibility with MINI or the retailer.
What range and performance does it offer?
BMW Group UK gives the Countryman SE Midnight Edition a 64.6 kWh battery, a maximum range of up to 285 miles, and a 0–62 mph time of 5.6 seconds. The range is a manufacturer-published WLTP laboratory-cycle figure, not an independently measured result or a promise of the distance available in everyday driving.

MINI says WLTP figures are intended for comparison and can differ from real-life results due to factors including weather, driving style, accessories and vehicle load. Compare range figures only when they use the same test procedure. Neither launch source provides a real-world range test for this edition.
How quickly can it charge?
The stated maximum DC fast-charging rate is up to 130 kW, according to BMW Group UK. That is a peak charging capability, not a guaranteed rate throughout a charging session; the announcement does not specify a charging time or charging curve.

What equipment is included?
The edition combines distinctive exterior and cabin details with a set of standard comfort, display and driver-assistance features.
Exterior and interior
- Two body colours: Indigo Sunset Blue, introduced to the Countryman range with this edition, or Midnight Black; both are paired with a Midnight Black roof.
- 18-inch Asteroid Spoke alloy wheels in Jet Black or Vibrant Silver.
- Sun protection glass.
- Vescin Black/Blue cloth upholstery and a dark headliner.
Standard features
- Heated front seats, wireless charging and a head-up display.
- A luggage net.
- Driving Assistant Plus, with manufacturer-described features including active cruise control, lane-centring and Stop & Go. These assistance features do not make the car autonomous.
- Four years’ access to MINI Connected Package when purchased new, including services MINI describes as real-time traffic information, advanced navigation visualisation, video streaming and connected in-car apps.
What should buyers check before ordering?
Because the announcement does not include independent driving impressions, real-world range results, finance terms or warranty details, buyers should confirm the points that matter to their use directly with a MINI retailer.

- Ask for a current written OTR quote and confirm any applicable grant eligibility and how it affects the transaction.
- Check the expected delivery date and whether the colour and wheel choices are available for the car being ordered.
- Consider likely range in your own conditions rather than treating the WLTP maximum as an everyday guarantee.
