Many new hybrid supercars are presented first as performance machines: electric motors work alongside powerful combustion engines to deliver high combined output and rapid acceleration. That emphasis does not prove every hybrid supercar sacrifices fuel economy, or that hybrid systems cannot help mileage. It means performance specifications and fuel-economy figures answer different questions—and the latter need to be read in their market and test-cycle context.
How hybrid systems serve performance
In a performance-focused hybrid, electric motors can add propulsion alongside the combustion engine. Manufacturers emphasize the resulting powertrain and headline output; those claims describe the car’s stated capability, not a standardized comparison against rivals. Hybrid layouts also vary: some use several motors with a V12 or V8, while others pair a hybrid system with a V6 or a dedicated engine-and-module arrangement.
That distinction matters when asking whether hybrid supercars are built for speed or fuel economy. A power figure or acceleration claim is not a mileage result. To assess economy, look for an explicitly stated fuel-consumption figure, then check the region and test method behind it.
What the current models show
Lamborghini Revuelto: V12 and three electric motors
Lamborghini describes the Revuelto as its first HPEV hybrid super sports car. Its official product page lists a V12, three electric motors and a dual-clutch e-gearbox, with combined output of 1,015 CV (747 kW). Lamborghini also states a top speed above 350 km/h and 0–100 km/h acceleration in 2.5 seconds. These are manufacturer specifications, not results from a harmonized comparison test. Lamborghini Temerario: twin-turbo V8 and three motors
Lamborghini’s 2026 digital brochure describes a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 paired with three electric motors. It lists 920 PS of combined peak power and a maximum engine speed of 10,000 rpm. The brochure also gives fuel-economy figures, but they must stay tied to their stated market and measurement context: for the US, estimated combined economy is 24 MPGe using electricity and gasoline, while the gasoline-only estimate is 16 mpg. The brochure separately provides WLTP weighted-combined values. Ferrari F80: V6 hybrid
In its October 17, 2024 announcement, Ferrari described the F80 as a V6-hybrid supercar with 1,200 hp of combined maximum power. Ferrari called it the most powerful road car to come out of its factory at that time; that is the manufacturer’s claim, not an independently established class ranking. Ferrari F80 announcement

McLaren Artura: hybrid performance figures vary by market page
McLaren’s US product page lists the Artura at 690 hp and 531 lb-ft, with a 205 mph top speed. Its global page has surfaced a 916 PS figure. Because those figures come from differently framed market specifications and use different power units, they should not be combined or treated as directly equivalent without the relevant context. McLaren W1: engine, E-module and integrated e-differential
McLaren describes the W1 as using an MHP-8 engine, a new E-module, F1-derived battery technology and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission with an integrated E-differential. Aston Martin Valhalla: plug-in hybrid with limited electric range

How to compare hybrid supercars fairly
A useful comparison separates powertrain design, performance claims, electric operation and fuel economy instead of collapsing them into a single “best” ranking.

Read each number with its source’s units and conditions. A top speed in mph should not be ranked casually against one in km/h, and manufacturer acceleration claims should not be treated as results from a shared test unless the test methods are known. For economy, compare like with like: US EPA MPGe, US gasoline-only mpg and WLTP weighted-combined values describe different measures or cycles.

The available figures do not support a class-wide verdict. The Temerario brochure supplies US EPA estimates and separate WLTP values, while the other cited material chiefly presents powertrain and performance specifications. That gap does not show that those cars have poor mileage; it means a direct, same-method comparison cannot be made from these figures.

Nor do the cited specifications establish real-world fuel consumption, long-term battery economics or how often a particular owner will drive on electric power. Plug-in capability and electric-only use should be distinguished from electric-motor assistance: a hybrid can use a motor to support performance without the cited evidence establishing a usable electric-only range. Where a source does not give that range, it should not be inferred.
What the numbers can—and cannot—tell you
These examples show manufacturers using hybrid hardware in cars marketed around high output and performance. They do not establish that every hybrid supercar prioritizes performance over economy, nor do they prove hybridization has no mileage benefit. To judge a specific model’s economy, use its market-specific figures and test cycle; to compare performance, align the units and test conditions first. No harmonized cross-model performance or mileage study is established by the cited material.
