RushLane reported on October 6, 2026, that design-patent images appearing to show the new-generation Jeep Compass electric 4×4 had surfaced in India. That reported patent appearance does not confirm an India launch: Jeep has announced the model for its international lineup, but has not announced Indian availability.
What the reported India patent appearance means
RushLane says the images appear to depict the full-electric, four-wheel-drive version of the new Compass and notes that the filing could be intended simply to protect intellectual property. A design filing is not evidence that Jeep plans to sell the vehicle in India.
The report does not provide an application number or filing date, and the Indian patent-register entry and its legal status have not been independently verified. The patent detail should therefore be understood as a report, not a confirmed record check. RushLane’s October 6, 2026 report
Has Jeep confirmed an India launch?
No. Jeep’s May 6, 2025 announcement covers the third-generation Compass and its international powertrain lineup; it does not announce an India launch. What Jeep has announced about the electric Compass
The third-generation international lineup includes e-Hybrid, plug-in hybrid and three battery-electric variants, including an electric four-wheel-drive version. Jeep announced a range of up to 650 km for that electric model. This is the manufacturer’s announced international figure, not an Indian-market or Indian-homologated range claim.
Jeep Italy’s technical page identifies a “Compass 4xe Full-Electric.” Its listed WLTP energy consumption is 19.5–20.7 kWh/100 km, and its listed CO₂ emissions are 0 g/km. The page says its homologation values were updated in May 2026; these are Italian-market figures, not confirmation of Indian specifications or availability. How the new electric 4xe differs from the older Compass 4xe
The 4xe name can refer to different powertrains across Compass generations. The older Compass 4xe described on Jeep’s product page is a plug-in hybrid: it pairs a gasoline engine with electric drive.
