Audi revealed the new A6 Avant on March 4, 2025. The “2026” in the original headline should not be read as the year of the global unveiling: Audi’s release and reveal video are both dated March 4, 2025.
When was the new Audi A6 Avant revealed?
The global reveal took place on March 4, 2025. Audi announced the car in its official launch release and published its global reveal video that day.
Which A6 Avant did Audi reveal?
The March 2025 announcement concerned the combustion-engine A6 Avant, with gasoline and diesel engines and Audi’s MHEV plus mild-hybrid technology. It is distinct from the separately listed all-electric A6 Avant e-tron and S6 Avant e-tron.
Reveal date versus orders and local arrival
A reveal is not the same as a showroom arrival. Audi’s 2025 release said orders could be placed from March 2025. For New Zealand specifically, Audi reported on February 12, 2026, that local arrival was expected from April 2026; that regional estimate does not change the global reveal date.

What Audi said about the car
Audi described the combustion A6 Avant as featuring MHEV plus technology, adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering. The manufacturer gave it a drag coefficient of 0.25, calling that the best value for an Audi Avant with a combustion engine. Audi also listed fuel consumption of 8.0–5.0 l/100 km and CO₂ emissions of 181–130 g/km, noting that figures depend on market and vehicle specification.
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner said the new A6 combines “an elegant and dynamic design with exceptional aerodynamics,” alongside efficient drive systems and suspension technology intended to balance sportiness and comfort. This is Audi’s description, not an independent assessment.
