A 23-year-old woman and her two young sons were injured when their Ford Falcon collided with a truck on Lilydale Road in Chidlow on the morning of May 9, 2014. PerthNow’s initial report, citing Western Australian police spokeswoman Ros Weatherall, said the southbound car left the road, re-entered the carriageway and spun into the path of the northbound truck.
Where and when did the crash happen?
PerthNow reported that the collision occurred at about 9:15 a.m. on May 9, 2014, on Lilydale Road in Chidlow. The Ford Falcon was travelling south and the truck was travelling north, according to the report.
How did the car hit the truck?
Weatherall said the Ford lost control on a left-hand bend, left the road and then re-entered the carriageway before spinning into the path of the oncoming truck. The report described the crash sequence as an initial police account; it did not provide a later investigation finding or establish a final cause.
Who was injured and where were they taken?
The Ford’s occupants were a 23-year-old woman from Chidlow and her sons, aged two and four. PerthNow reported that both children were taken to Princess Margaret Hospital and their mother to Swan Districts Hospital. The report did not provide further details about their injuries or later health outcomes.

What was known about the investigation?
PerthNow said Major Crash officers were investigating. Its May 9, 2014 report contains no subsequent update on the investigation or its conclusions, so fault and any final findings cannot be established from that account.
