Check all three before choosing a model: published garage dimensions alone do not establish that your bicycles will load easily or that a particular motorhome will let you ride farther.
Start with your bikes and the garage opening
Measure each bicycle as you plan to carry it, including its length, handlebar width and height. Then compare those measurements with both the garage’s interior space and the clear opening through which the bike must pass. A bike can fit inside a compartment yet be difficult or impossible to get through its hatch.
Manufacturers publish different measurements for different models and configurations. For example, Laika’s Kreos page lists 218 × 129 cm for inside garage/storage dimensions and 100 × 120 cm for the opening measurements. These figures apply to the named Kreos model page, not to Laika motorhomes generally. Check the model table and configuration that match the vehicle you are considering: Laika Kreos specifications.
FRANKIA lists an interior garage height of 1.20 m for NEO. That single dimension is useful, but it does not answer whether a particular bike will pass through the hatch or fit alongside other gear. Confirm the remaining dimensions and the exact vehicle’s specification with the seller: FRANKIA NEO.

Check weight limits separately from available space
A roomy garage does not mean the motorhome can carry every bike and accessory you can fit inside. Check the vehicle’s permitted loading figures and remaining payload for the specific vehicle, then account for passengers, luggage, bikes, rack and other equipment. Ask the dealer or seller for the relevant figures for that exact vehicle and configuration.
Rack capacity is a separate limit. It is not a substitute for checking the motorhome’s payload, and it does not establish that a rack fits your garage or bicycles.

Compare garage-mounted carriers against your bikes
Two examples show why both total capacity and per-bike limits matter. Fiamma lists Garage Plus for up to four bikes, with a maximum load of 60 kg. Thule lists Sport G2 Garage with a maximum capacity of 50 kg and a maximum bike weight of 19 kg. These are manufacturer specifications for the named products; verify compatibility, installation requirements and the limits that apply to your setup before buying.

Fiamma says, “To transport our bikes inside the motorhome, Fiamma has developed different models to suit all needs.” Treat that as the manufacturer’s description, not an independent assessment of fit or performance. If loading is the obstacle, a loading track may also be worth investigating; Karman Accessories lists manual and powered Pollicino tracks for bicycles and e-bikes, but availability and compatibility should be confirmed for the vehicle.

Choose an interior layout for time off the bike
Interior flexibility can mean choosing among different floor plans, not having an open or interchangeable interior in every motorhome. FRANKIA lists NEO with transverse or longitudinal rear-bed arrangements and other living-area choices. Consider how the layout works for your passengers, sleeping needs and everyday storage once the bikes are secured in the garage. Other model-specific features should be read just as narrowly. Malibu describes a scooter-garage loading height of up to 124 cm for a named optional configuration and says load capacity varies by chassis. Use this checklist when comparing vehicles
- Measure the bikes. Record length, handlebar width, height and weight for every bicycle, with particular care for heavier e-bikes.
- Check the route into the garage. Compare bike dimensions with the clear hatch opening as well as the compartment’s interior length, width and height.
- Check every relevant weight limit. Compare each bike with any per-bike rack limit, the carrier’s total capacity and the vehicle’s remaining payload.
- Confirm loading and securing. Ask how the bikes are positioned and fastened, and whether the carrier’s mounting and installation requirements suit that garage.
- Assess the living space. Compare bed and living-area arrangements, and consider what storage remains usable when the bikes are away.
- Verify the exact vehicle. Specifications can vary with model year, market, chassis and options. Request figures for the vehicle and configuration you would actually buy.
These checks help establish whether a particular setup suits your bikes and travel needs; the manufacturer pages cited here do not provide a controlled comparison showing that one motorhome is best or that carrying bikes increases the distance riders travel.
