The Lazareth LM 847 is a French four-wheel leaning motorcycle concept unveiled in 2016. Its paired front and rear wheels are designed to incline through a bespoke suspension system, while a Maserati-derived 4.7-liter V8 provides the power. It is a striking engineering concept, not a confirmed production motorcycle: current availability is unconfirmed.
What is the Lazareth LM 847?
The LM 847 is a one-off-style concept machine from French builder Lazareth, presented at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Its unusual layout combines four wheels—two paired at the front and two at the rear—with a chassis intended to lean into turns. That makes “four-wheel leaning motorcycle” a useful description, though some coverage also calls it a quadricycle. It is not a conventional four-wheeled vehicle, and the sources do not establish it as a production motorcycle.

The central idea is to pair the stability and footprint of four contact patches with a leaning motion more associated with motorcycles. Lazareth describes a dedicated independent-suspension kinematic system that lets the paired wheels incline. That is the maker’s account of the design, not independent proof of how the machine handles on the road.
How does the four-wheel leaning system work?
Each end has two closely paired wheels. Rather than treating the front and rear pairs as fixed axles, the LM 847 uses an independent-suspension arrangement designed to let the machine tilt. Lazareth says the system was devised to accommodate the engine’s mass and power while allowing the four-wheel machine to lean. Its official description is available on the Lazareth LM 847 page.

#1 Best Overall
- Two wheels don't just carry you forward. They remind you who you are. This Chopper motorcycle model captures that feeling—a tribute to the freedom that lives beyond the road.
- Electroplating painted parts reflect more than light. They reflect the soul of classic bikes. It’s the shine that belongs in every garage and every rider’s memory.
- The low frame and tall handlebars say one thing: this motorcycle has attitude. Every curve and angle was shaped for those who ride to stand apart, not blend in.
- Features a V-type engine with moving pistons. Turn the wheels and see the pistons move. In that motion, the spirit of the motorbike comes to life.
- It’s a gift that speaks without words. For those who hear engines like poetry and see chrome as a badge of belief, this is something worth holding onto.
The mechanism is the feature that distinguishes the LM 847 from an ordinary motorcycle or a conventional quadricycle. The available sources describe its layout, but do not provide independent road-test evidence establishing stability, safety in extreme conditions, or ease of riding.
What engine and power does the LM 847 have?
Period reporting identifies a Maserati-derived 4.7-liter V8. Lazareth rounds its output to 470 cv, and Moto.it reports 470 cv (about 463 hp) at 7,000 rpm and 620 Nm of torque at 4,750 rpm. Quatro Rodas instead reports 476 cv at 7,000 rpm and 63.2 mkgf at 4,750 rpm. The published power figures differ slightly; the sources do not explain whether the difference reflects rounding or another convention.

The engine is described as a structural, load-bearing part of the chassis rather than simply a motor mounted in a conventional motorcycle frame. Lazareth says it extends into a rear loop supporting a sequential gearbox, with a torque converter transferring power. The detailed period account from Moto.it describes a one-speed transmission with a hydraulic torque converter, twin rear chains and a differential.

These are figures reported in period coverage, not independent measurements. Where sources disagree, the difference is preserved rather than reconciled without evidence.

Quatro Rodas’ period specification account is at Quatro Rodas. The 400 kg reported mass and four-wheel layout make clear that this is a substantial machine by motorcycle standards, even before considering its unusual chassis.

Moto.it’s 2016 account describes a highly specialized arrangement rather than off-the-shelf motorcycle architecture:

- Die-cast vehicle
- Close to 20 highly-detailed parts are in each kit.
- Everything needed to build the models is included.
- The V8 serves as a structural, load-bearing member.
- Single-sided swingarms are used, with front hub steering and independently suspended front wheels.
- A transverse TFX rear shock works with rocker linkages.
- Power reaches the rear through twin chains and a differential.
- The reported braking setup uses 420 mm perimeter front discs with eight-piston Nissin calipers and 255 mm rear discs with four-piston Brembo calipers.
- Moto.it lists Michelin Power Cup Evo tires.
Those component details come from period reporting on the concept; they should not be taken as evidence that equivalent parts are readily available or compatible with a road-going vehicle.
Is the Lazareth LM 847 for sale?
Current retail availability and production status are unconfirmed. When Moto.it covered the LM 847’s 2016 presentation, it said future production prospects were unknown. Lazareth’s official page describes the machine but does not state a price, production run, ordering process or delivery status. The sources available here therefore do not support calling it a model currently on sale or repeating older claims about street legality or a planned production quantity as established facts.

The LM 847 shares the leaning behavior associated with motorcycles, but its four-wheel layout, 400 kg reported mass, V8 engine, torque-converter transmission and twin-chain rear drive make it a very different proposition from a conventional two-wheel motorcycle. Moto.it mentions the Dodge Tomahawk as a comparison point, but neither source establishes the LM 847 as a direct consumer alternative to that machine or to production motorcycles. It is best understood as an engineering concept whose defining feature is the attempt to combine a powerful engine with a leaning four-wheel chassis.
