The Lemmo One’s Dual Mode Hub lets riders switch to manual mode by disengaging the clutch between the motor core and hub shell. Lemmo says this allows the hub to rotate freely while pedaling; it is a specific mechanical feature, not proof that the whole bike feels exactly like a conventional bicycle.
What disconnects in the Lemmo One hub?
Lemmo calls the mechanism the Dual Mode Hub, a dual-clutch design used to switch between electric E-Mode and manual M-Mode. In M-Mode, Lemmo says the clutch joining the motor core to the hub shell disengages, allowing the hub to rotate freely.
That describes the relationship between the motor and hub. It does not establish a measured reduction in resistance, prove an efficiency advantage, or show that every part of the bike behaves like a conventional non-electric bicycle.
How do you switch to manual mode?
Lemmo describes changing modes by pulling the cap switch and rotating it 90 degrees. Cycling Electric describes the control as a clutch switch at the rear axle. Follow the instructions for the specific bike rather than assuming that a switch position or procedure is identical across every version.

Which Lemmo model and specifications are covered?
Lemmo’s specifications page lists the Dual Mode Hub for the Lemmo One MK2 family, across multiple trims. It gives one hub specification as “Duo clutch, inner rotor motor, 40Nm, asist speed 25km/h”; check the exact trim and regional configuration before applying those figures to a particular bike.
Lemmo’s feature page lists E-Mode figures of 40 Nm torque and 250 W. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of output or hub performance.

What the feature does—and does not—establish
The mechanical description supports the practical claim that the motor can be disengaged for manual pedaling. The available product descriptions do not quantify how much resistance the mechanism removes or compare it with other e-bike motors under controlled conditions.
Cycling Electric’s review describes the rear-axle clutch switch and reports that its reviewer found the motor “a bit lurchy at times.” That is an individual reviewer’s impression, not a controlled test or a finding that applies to every Lemmo One version.

Lemmo describes the One as an E+Bike with manual and electric modes, and says its Smartpac is a detachable unit containing electronic components. Neither detail changes the hub’s narrower function: the clutch disconnects the motor core from the hub shell for manual mode.
