The Morgan Supersport is a hand-built British sports car with a modern turbocharged powertrain and a distinctly old-school character. In UK specification it pairs a 335 bhp BMW straight-six with an eight-speed automatic and starts at £109,048 on the road, according to Morgan’s April 2026 price list. It belongs in the Porsche 911 conversation for buyers drawn to design and craftsmanship—not because it matches the Porsche’s broader capability or everyday ease.
What is the Morgan Supersport?
Launched on 11 March 2025, the Supersport is Morgan’s flagship and an evolution of the company’s traditional sports-car silhouette. Its aluminium bodywork is shaped using Morgan’s coachbuilding approach, while the more aerodynamic profile and revised platform aim to improve refinement and usability without turning it into a conventional, electronics-led sports car.
Morgan says computational fluid dynamics informed the body and underbody, and reports 5% less drag and 20% less lift than its previous six-cylinder models. Those are manufacturer development comparisons, not independent test results. The company also describes the Supersport as retaining a recognizable Morgan identity while bringing the design forward.

The figures below describe Morgan’s UK specification and April 2026 price list; they should not be treated as universal specifications.

Why the Supersport is not simply a 911 substitute
The comparison is useful if it is framed around the kind of sports car a buyer wants. In its April 2026 road test, evo describes the 911 as more capable, rounded and easier to live with. It characterizes the Morgan as more bespoke and specialized, with distinctive design, handmade character and a more old-school driving experience. The Supersport is automatic-only, and evo notes a slightly awkward driving position.

That makes the Morgan a retro alternative for someone who values character and craft over the Porsche’s all-round breadth. It is not evidence that the two cars are equivalent in performance, practicality or ease of use. evo reports a UK RRP from £105,723, 0–62 mph in just under four seconds and a 166 mph top speed; those are figures from that publication’s road-test coverage, not a like-for-like comparison test against a 911.
A more modern Morgan platform, with an old-school brief
The CXV bonded-aluminium platform builds on Morgan’s earlier CX architecture. Morgan’s 2025 launch information says the platform, including front and rear subframes, weighs 102 kg. The company reports 10% greater overall torsional rigidity than the previous vehicle, and a further 10% increase with the optional carbon-fibre hard top fitted. It also reports steering speed increased by 13% versus the outgoing six-cylinder model, revised steering and suspension, and standard front and rear anti-roll bars.

These are Morgan’s stated development figures. They help explain the engineering direction, but do not by themselves establish how the car compares with a 911 on a road or circuit.

The Supersport has an interchangeable folding soft top and optional hard top, plus a rear boot and side-screen mounting. Morgan lists a black mohair folding hood as standard and a body-colour hard top as an option in its April 2026 UK price list. The exact equipment and pricing may differ by market or change over time.

evo notes Bluetooth hands-free calling, wireless phone charging and room in the boot for the side-screens. These conveniences make the car more usable than its traditional appearance might suggest, though they do not erase the 911’s practical advantage described in the review.
US specification is different from UK specification
Morgan’s US Supersport page, accessed 8 October 2026, lists a BMW B46 2.0-litre inline-four with 255 bhp at 4,400 rpm and 258 lb ft (350 Nm) at 1,450 rpm, paired with a ZF eight-speed automatic. The page gives a weight of 2,520 lb (1,143 kg), pending final certification, and a 36-month/36,000-mile warranty. It lists a starting price of $119,995 before sales tax and destination charges.
Those US-page figures differ from the UK launch and UK price-list specification above; do not combine them into one set of universal specifications. Buyers should confirm the engine, equipment, warranty and price for their market with a Morgan dealer. See Morgan Supersport USA.
Wheels and tyre fitment
Morgan identifies Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres in its launch material. For the optional 19-inch wheels, evo reports sizes of 235/40 at the front and 255/40 at the rear. Those dimensions apply to that wheel configuration only; verify the car’s tyre label or check with a dealer before buying replacements.
