The Canadian product page still showed a TK1 listing in stock when accessed, so availability depends on market and should be confirmed before buying. The specifications and performance evidence below come from Mooncool and an independent reviewer—not from hands-on testing by CarCody.
What is the Mooncool TK1?
The TK1 is a three-wheeled electric trike with a folding frame, removable battery, front and rear baskets, and a rear differential. Mooncool positions it for seniors and people with disabilities. Those are intended-use claims, not evidence that the trike is suitable or safe for every rider.
Mooncool’s Canadian product FAQ says: “Yes, indeed. Our trike is designed with ease of use and stability in mind, making it a great choice for older adults and persons with disabilities who are looking for a safe and comfortable riding experience.” That is the manufacturer’s assessment; the listed product information does not establish a clinical or independent accessibility outcome.
Availability: check your country before shopping
Mooncool’s U.S. TK1 page states, “The TK1 is no longer available to order,” and calls the TK2 its direct successor: Mooncool U.S. TK1 product page. By contrast, the Canadian TK1 listing showed the model in stock when accessed: Mooncool Canada TK1 product page. A listing in one country does not establish availability elsewhere, and stock can change.

Mooncool’s June 2, 2026 comparison article identifies the TK2 as the successor. It says the TK2 retains the 450 lb payload and folding frame, while adding a larger 48V 15Ah (720Wh) battery, reverse gear, and updated display, seat, and suspension. Check the current TK2 product page for its latest specifications before comparing or purchasing; manufacturer comparison information can change.

Mooncool’s TK1-versus-TK2 article lists the TK1’s range as 35–70 miles and top speed as 16 mph. Those are also manufacturer claims. The figures are close to the Canadian listing after unit conversion, but may reflect market configurations or rounding; they should not be collapsed into a single guaranteed range or speed. Actual range depends on riding conditions and use.
Mooncool’s launch release gives conflicting peak motor-power figures: its feature text says peak 1000W, while its specification table says peak 750W. Because the release contradicts itself, neither figure is a reliable basis for evaluating the TK1.

How it performs, according to an independent review
Electric Bike Report published a video review on May 16, 2025, titled “Mooncool TK1 Folding Electric Trike Review | Cool & Colorful.” The reviewer’s video chapters cover braking, speed, range, hills, ride quality, and a conclusion. Its description says the reviewer tested range and found strong demonstrated range relative to models they had tested; it also describes comfort impressions from the front suspension, saddle, and grips. These are that reviewer’s observations, not results replicated by CarCody or a guarantee of what another rider will experience: Electric Bike Report’s TK1 video review.

The TK1 has features that may matter to some riders: a wide tire format, a large seat cited by Mooncool, front suspension, a folding frame, a parking brake, and a rear differential that Mooncool says aids cornering control. None of these features alone proves that an individual can ride it safely. Three wheels and wide tires are not a guarantee against tipping, and the sources do not establish universal suitability.

Before choosing the TK1, evaluate the rider and the intended trips rather than relying on the senior-focused marketing:
- Mounting and dismounting: Can the rider get on and off comfortably and reliably?
- Controls and fit: Can they reach and operate the controls, steer, brake, and turn while seated?
- Handling: Can they manage turns and the terrain they expect to ride? A test ride with an appropriate, experienced helper can reveal fit or control issues.
- Transport: At 40.8 kg (89.9 lb) net weight on Mooncool’s Canadian listing, the trike may be difficult for one person to lift into a vehicle. Folding does not mean lightweight.
- Support: Confirm local service, parts, warranty, and return options before purchase, particularly if buying an older model or from a third-party seller.
What to compare with the TK2 or another trike
If the TK1 is unavailable where you live, compare alternatives against the needs of the rider and the actual use case—not just the model name or advertised range.
- Regional availability, price, warranty, and service support.
- Battery capacity and realistic range for the rider’s weight, route, terrain, and assist use.
- Brakes, drivetrain, and whether reverse assist is useful for maneuvering.
- Seat comfort, adjustability, control reach, and ability to mount and dismount.
- Folded dimensions and the practical work of lifting or transporting the trike.
- Payload, including rider and cargo.
Mooncool’s Canadian TK1 listing also names a phone holder and a front pet carrier compatible with the TK1/TK Pro. Check whether any accessory is currently sold and compatible in your country before relying on it for navigation or pet transport.
