What is the MITT GT-K?
The MITT GT-K is the Spanish grand tourer named in New Atlas’s headline. The “BMW copy” wording is playful framing, not evidence of a formal design finding, legal dispute, or engineering relationship. New Atlas compares its value proposition with BMW’s K 1600 GT and R 1250 RT, but the available details do not support a feature-by-feature comparison or a claim that the motorcycles are equivalent.
What does the reported price tell you?
New Atlas reported a European price of €11,495 for the GT-K and said that was less than half the prices of the BMW tourers in Europe. The figure is article-reported, not a verified current MSRP: the surfaced report does not provide an exact publication date, and present-day availability and pricing are not established. It should not be treated as a current, like-for-like quote against either BMW model.
For a real purchase comparison, check a local dealer’s current price and confirm what is included, along with registration costs and equipment for the specific market. The available information does not establish the GT-K’s current factory specifications, inventory, warranty terms, service schedule, or parts support.

What can be verified about the BMW R 1250 RT?
BMW Group Spain’s 2020 announcement provides a published reference for the R 1250 RT—not for the MITT GT-K. BMW described the RT as using a two-cylinder boxer engine with ShiftCam variable valve timing and listed these figures:

How is the R 1250 RT equipped for touring?
BMW’s 2020 Spanish release lists standard Dynamic Traction Control, ECO mode, Full Integral ABS Pro, and a 10.25-inch color TFT display with integrated navigation and connectivity. It identifies adaptive cornering lights, Dynamic ESA, and Active Cruise Control as optional or factory-option equipment in the described configuration. BMW’s Mexico model page also describes radar-based Active Cruise Control and 70 litres of standard equipment capacity, with a 226 kg payload. Equipment and specifications can vary by market and configuration.
BMW Motorrad México lists WMTC consumption of 4.75 L/100 km and CO₂ emissions of 110 g/km for its R 1250 RT. These are manufacturer-published figures for that market, not independent test results; the page does not state a publication year. No equivalent GT-K figures are established here, so a direct efficiency or emissions comparison would be misleading.
