That is a test-cycle figure, not a guaranteed distance for every delivery route or operating condition.
What Mitsubishi announced
In a November 24, 2023 announcement, Mitsubishi Motors described the Minicab EV as a kei-class electric commercial van with a monobox design, based on the Minicab-MiEV. The company said roughly 13,000 Minicab-MiEV units had sold over the preceding 12 years. It scheduled Japan sales through its sales affiliates to begin December 21, 2023. Mitsubishi Motors’ launch announcement is the source for the specifications and launch-era prices below.
How to interpret the 180-km range
Mitsubishi’s stated range was 180 km per charge in WLTC mode, approximately 35% more than the previous model. WLTC is a standardized test cycle; the figure is useful for understanding the manufacturer’s published rating, but it does not promise that a van will cover 180 km in day-to-day commercial service. This announcement provides no real-world fleet range results.
Mitsubishi attributed the improvement to a 25% increase in drive-battery capacity and integration of the motor and inverter. These are manufacturer explanations, not independently verified performance findings. The release also lists maximum motor torque of 195 Nm.

These are the times Mitsubishi published in 2023. They should be read with the stated power conditions and do not establish charging time under every charger, battery, or ambient condition.
Two-seat and four-seat launch versions
The announcement listed both configurations for Japan. Prices included Japan’s 10% consumption tax at the time and are historical launch prices, not confirmed 2026 prices.

Commercial purpose and announced safety equipment
Mitsubishi positioned the Minicab EV for commercial use, citing logistics businesses and government agencies as potential sources of demand, including for last-mile work. The announcement did not quantify operating-cost savings, emissions reductions for a particular operator, or performance with a specific cargo load.
