What Mérida’s selection means for the event
In its announcement, Infront presents Mérida and Extremadura through the region’s Roman heritage and visitor appeal, naming the Roman Theatre, Amphitheatre, Circus, Temple of Diana and Roman Bridge. That is the announcement’s framing of the destination; it does not provide travel advice or details about how spectators will reach the race venue.
David Luongo, Infront Moto Racing President and CEO, said the city is close to the Portuguese border and described it as a place where visitors could experience both motocross and the city. Juan Cabral, Strategics Director at Seventy 6 Motion, framed the event as a chance to showcase Mérida and Extremadura internationally and said the organizer aims to build a Grand Prix with a distinct identity.
