Qualifying order and the grid changes
Verstappen takes pole
Verstappen set the fastest qualifying time, 1:35.130, 0.298 seconds ahead of Hamilton’s 1:35.428. Hamilton qualified second and starts alongside Verstappen on the front row.
Hadjar drops from third to eighth
Hadjar’s 1:35.558 put him third in qualifying, but a five-place grid penalty for an additional power-unit element moves him to eighth on the provisional starting grid. The qualifying time and the race-start position therefore describe different orders.

Other penalties listed by the FIA
The provisional grid also records penalties for Franco Colapinto and Arvid Lindblad. Colapinto has a five-place penalty for causing a collision at the 2026 Azerbaijan Grand Prix and a 10-place penalty for an additional power-unit element. Lindblad has a 30-place penalty for additional power-unit elements. Their grid positions above are reproduced as listed by the FIA rather than recalculated.

This round retains the name Bahrain Grand Prix but is hosted at Sepang International Circuit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The official schedule lists the event for October 2–4, 2026, with qualifying on October 3 and the Grand Prix on October 4. The FIA’s current document is explicitly provisional, so check the FIA Bahrain Grand Prix event documents for any later final grid before relying on the lineup.
