The evidence does not establish that the CLE Mythos is a Black Series, identify the leak behind the original headline, or confirm the other plans implied by “and more.”
What Mercedes has confirmed about the CLE Mythos
On January 27, 2026, Mercedes-Benz said an extreme, camouflaged CLE-based AMG had begun cold-weather testing in Sweden as the second model in its Mythos series. At that point, the company did not give it a name, power figure, production count, or Black Series designation. Mercedes-Benz’s January announcement described the car as a Mythos vehicle.
Mercedes-Benz named and detailed it on September 10, 2026, as the Mercedes-AMG CLE 646 Spezialanfertigung. The company calls it a limited collector vehicle and says it had sold out before its world premiere. That is the manufacturer’s availability statement; it does not establish an exact production quantity or consumer price. Mercedes-Benz’s announcement of the CLE 646 provides the published specifications.
Power, drivetrain, and chassis
Mercedes-Benz lists a 637-hp AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo and rear-wheel drive. The company also describes a wide body, newly developed coilover suspension, and extensive aerodynamic engineering. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.

Mercedes-Benz positions the car as a road-legal coupe for “an uncompromising driving experience on winding roads and closed race circuits.” That is the maker’s description, not a conclusion from an independent road or track test.
Is the CLE Mythos a Black Series?
The reviewed announcements identify the CLE 646 Spezialanfertigung as a Mythos Series model. They do not identify it as a Black Series or say the two names are interchangeable. Although the camouflaged car prompted Black Series speculation before its official identity was known, the later Mercedes-Benz announcement established its Mythos designation without confirming a Black Series badge.

Is Mercedes bringing back the Black Series?
Car and Driver reported on February 10, 2026, that Michael Schiebe, then CEO of Mercedes-AMG, said future Black Series cars would continue. The outlet quoted him describing the line as “an obligation.” This supports continued Black Series plans, but it is not an announcement of a specific model, specification, or launch date. Car and Driver’s report attributes the statement to Schiebe.

What does “and more” mean?
The headline’s “and more” is not substantiated by the available confirmed information. The original leak or report behind that wording has not been identified here, and no additional plans can be reliably tied to it. The confirmed picture is narrower: Mercedes-Benz announced and specified a CLE Mythos, and a separate report attributed a general continuation statement about Black Series cars to Schiebe. Those two facts do not establish a broader product roadmap.
