That is not an exhaustive, market-wide order guide. Mercedes-Benz says MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure can draw on hundreds of historical Mercedes-Benz and Maybach colours, while requests outside its pre-approved portfolio are assessed individually. What colours are available on the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class now?
Mercedes-Benz’s latest located announcement, dated 7 July 2026, describes the updated Mercedes-Maybach S-Class as having more than 150 exterior colours. The figure covers the manufacturer’s stated palette, but the announcement does not publish a complete named inventory. It therefore cannot be used to identify every colour that can be ordered on every trim, in every market, or throughout the model year.

- "Mercedes Maibach" has arrived. The S680 is the top car of the Mercedes Maybach which is widely known as the Mercedes sub-brand. The color of this item is an elegant impression with its high class
- MANUFAKTUR black sparkling: a black finish with glass flakes that create a visible shimmer as the body catches the light.

Those names are confirmed examples, not a complete list of the 150-plus colours. Equipment, production timing, certification rules and local ordering portfolios can all affect what appears in a buyer’s configurator or quotation.
Can you order the Maybach S-Class with two-tone paint?
Yes. Mercedes-Benz identifies two-tone paint as part of the Maybach S-Class design programme, and the latest announcement names Obsidianschwarz/Mojavesilber as a Night Series combination. The announcement does not say that this is the only current pairing, so it should be treated as a confirmed example rather than a universal two-tone menu.
In a two-tone specification, the body is divided into a lower and upper colour, normally with a narrow contrasting pinstripe at the boundary. The precise combinations and whether they are offered on a particular S-Class version must be checked when the vehicle is ordered. A pairing shown in a brochure, press image or an older market guide may not be orderable on a new car today.
Historical two-tone combinations published by Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes-Benz listed ten Maybach S-Class two-tone pairings in an exterior-design article published on 19 November 2020. The article is archived and carries an outdated-information warning. The list is useful for understanding the colour vocabulary Mercedes-Benz has officially used, but it is not current order guidance.
In the table, the lower-body colour appears first and the upper-body colour second, following the explanation in that 2020 article.

Names, spellings and availability can differ by market and model year. Do not assume that a colour in this archived list can be selected for a 2026 build without written confirmation.
Two-tone colours shown on special editions
Limited editions demonstrate combinations that are tied to a specific production run rather than being a standing choice for the regular S-Class range.

The V12 Edition description establishes the position of each colour and the pinstripe. The 2021 Edition 100 description identifies the hand-painted pairing but does not establish a general-market option for today’s cars.
How the Maybach two-tone paint process works
Mercedes-Benz’s archived 2020 description explains why a Maybach two-tone finish is more involved than selecting two swatches. The lower-body colour is applied first. The body then goes to a special-painting workshop for extensive hand preparation and painting. The upper colour is chosen to cover the lower colour completely, and the dividing line is finished with a fine pinstripe.
- Apply the lower colour. The lower-body shade is laid down before the upper section is prepared.
- Prepare the body by hand. The archived description refers to extensive hand preparation in a special-painting workshop.
- Apply the upper colour. The second shade is selected so it can fully cover the first where the two areas meet.
- Finish the separation line. A fine pinstripe defines the boundary between the two colours.
- Allow for specialist production time. Mercedes-Benz said this process could take up to a week in the 2020 account.
The “up to a week” timing describes the production practice reported in that archived publication. It is not a guaranteed lead time for a 2026 vehicle, and a retailer should provide the current schedule for the exact specification.
What MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure adds
For buyers who do not find the desired colour in the active menu, Mercedes-Benz describes MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure as the route to broader personalisation. The programme is described as offering hundreds of historical Mercedes-Benz and Maybach exterior and wheel colours, alongside other individualised choices.

Some Made to Measure colours are pre-approved for particular vehicles and markets. A pre-approved status means the colour has passed the relevant internal review for that configuration; it does not mean the same shade is automatically available worldwide or on every S-Class derivative.

Requests outside the portfolio
If the requested shade is outside the pre-approved portfolio, Mercedes-Benz says it is reviewed individually after consultation. That review is a feasibility decision, not a promise of acceptance. The consultant needs the intended market, exact vehicle version and the proposed colour reference before confirming whether the request can proceed.
Why a historical Mercedes colour may still need approval
A colour used on an earlier Mercedes-Benz or Maybach can involve paint-system, compliance, supplier or process constraints on a current car. The Made to Measure description is therefore best understood as access to a broader catalogue plus an assessment process, rather than an unconditional right to reproduce any past colour.

Gloss, metallic, sparkling and matte are not interchangeable descriptions. The 2026 announcement specifically documents a glass-flake effect for MANUFAKTUR black sparkling and a matte surface for MANUFAKTUR verdesilber magno. Other names in historical or edition examples should not be assigned a finish type unless Mercedes-Benz specifies it.
How to confirm a colour before placing an order
- Identify the exact car. Record the model designation, wheelbase or body style, engine or drivetrain, model year and intended market.
- Ask for the current paint sheet. Request the active exterior-colour list for that configuration rather than relying on an archived article or an image of another car.
- Specify the layout. For two-tone paint, ask which shade is lower, which is upper and whether a pinstripe is included.
- Check the finish description. Confirm whether the paint is gloss, metallic, glass-flake sparkling or matte, and ask how it will be represented on the order form.
- Use Made to Measure for non-menu colours. Provide the historical colour name or reference and request an individual feasibility assessment.
- Get the result in writing. The final quotation or build confirmation should identify the colour names, two-tone placement, pinstripe and any special-programme code.
- Confirm timing and acceptance conditions. Specialist paint work can affect production scheduling; ask what happens if the requested shade is rejected or withdrawn before build.
Common mistakes when researching Maybach paint colours
- Treating “more than 150” as a public list. It is a total stated by Mercedes-Benz, not an enumerated catalogue in the announcement.
- Using the 2020 ten-pairing list as a 2026 menu. Mercedes-Benz marks that article as archived and potentially outdated.
- Assuming a special-edition finish is transferable. The V12 Edition and Edition 100 combinations belong to named limited editions.
- Confusing a colour name with a finish. Only documented descriptions should be used to call a paint matte, metallic or sparkling.
- Ignoring the market and configuration. A shade approved in one country or for one derivative may not be orderable elsewhere.
- Buying generic touch-up paint based on a name alone. A retail product with a similar description is not evidence that it matches a factory Maybach finish.
What is confirmed, and what still requires a retailer check?
Confirmed by the latest manufacturer announcement are the 150-plus exterior-colour palette, MANUFAKTUR black sparkling, MANUFAKTUR verdesilber magno and the Night Series example Obsidianschwarz/Mojavesilber. Confirmed by Mercedes-Benz’s earlier published material are the historical ten-pairing list and the described hand-finished two-tone process. The announcement does not provide a complete current, market-by-market inventory or a definitive list of every two-tone combination. For that reason, the only reliable way to establish orderability is a current confirmation for the buyer’s exact vehicle and location.
