Mercedes-Benz India plans to raise prices across its vehicle portfolio in January 2027, CEO Santosh Iyer said. The company has not announced the size of the increase; an October 5, 2026 report said it would decide the amount closer to December.
Will Mercedes-Benz car prices go up in India in January 2027?
Yes. Iyer said the planned increase would apply across the portfolio. The announcement was reported by ETAuto/PTI on October 5, 2026; it was not accompanied by a model-wise price list or a published effective date beyond January.
How much will prices increase?
The amount has not been disclosed. ETAuto/PTI reported on October 5 that Mercedes-Benz India expected to decide the quantum closer to December. Previous price revisions do not establish the size of the January 2027 increase, so buyers should not treat earlier percentages as a forecast.
Why is Mercedes-Benz India raising prices?
Iyer cited a weakening rupee, higher shipping costs and inflation. He told ETAuto/PTI that the rupee was at 109–110 per euro; that is the figure he cited in the October 5, 2026 report, not a current exchange-rate check. ETAuto separately reported that the company had cited longer shipping timelines and quarterly price increases of 1.5–2%.

What happened with Mercedes-Benz India prices in 2026?
Reports published on October 5 describe a series of 2026 revisions but do not count them consistently. ETAuto/PTI reported that Iyer described increases of around 2% in January and April and said the company had made three increases by the time of his remarks. A separate ETAuto report quoted him saying there had been three increases already and that prices rose again on October 1; it also described quarterly increases of 1.5–2%. Read as reported accounts, these indicate repeated revisions, not a reliable basis for calculating the next one.
What should buyers check before booking?
Repeated price increases can make timing and written terms important, but the reports do not establish that a booking before January will lock in today’s price. Before committing, ask the dealer to confirm the following in writing:

In July 2026, Iyer told Autocar Professional that some first-time luxury-car buyers with a planned budget may postpone purchases after a price rise. He also described financing offers with reduced instalments and longer repayment periods. Those are his comments and examples of financing approaches, not a guarantee of an offer or a price lock on any particular booking.
