Is the Mercedes GLC 220d a diesel?

4MATIC is Mercedes-Benz’s all-wheel-drive system. Torque is distributed to the front and rear axles so the car can maintain traction when a driven wheel has less grip. Which AdBlue should you buy?
Use only fluid that complies with ISO 22241. The manual’s instruction is: “Only use AdBlue® in accordance with ISO 22241.” Do not dilute it with water and do not use an additive-enhanced product. Impurities can increase emissions and damage the catalytic converter. Check the container label, keep the filler and cap clean, and use the vehicle’s manual to identify the correct filler location and procedure.
How do you avoid a costly filling mistake?
- Never pour AdBlue into the diesel fuel tank.
- Never pour diesel into the AdBlue tank.
- If the wrong fluid is added, do not start the engine; arrange professional draining and system inspection.
- If AdBlue spills, follow the manual’s cleaning instructions rather than allowing crystals to build up around the filler.
- Use the manual for your exact generation and market, because filler design and warnings can vary.

What oil capacity does a GLC 220d need?
A Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV 2021 X253 owner’s manual lists 6.3 litres for an oil change including the filter on the GLC 220 d 4MATIC. That is a release-specific figure, not a universal capacity for every GLC 220 d. The X254 and later cars, different engines, service procedures and residual oil levels may require a different amount.
Have the technician verify the approved oil specification and final level in the vehicle’s own manual.
